I'd have to say Iginla . He brings leadership, scoring and toughness to a smaller team that needs toughness and could use some more scoring and outside of Koivu don't have too much leadership. Plus he is a class act off the ice .

I think the best all around player in the league has to be Forsberg... I would not mind seing Iginla or Lidstrom in our team either... but if i had only one pick, I think Forsberg would be it.

A toss up between Iginla and Kovalchuk.... If you'd twist my arm to choose i'd take Kovalchuk...

Heatley, as he is already a world class skill level player (case in point the last World Championships) and he still has so many good years ahead of him. He is a big skilled guy around whom you can build a team. Lots of respect to Iginla, Forsberg, Bertuzzi and others, but this kid would solidify a Habs' lineup for ten years or more...WOW. I give the edge to the young star!!

He may not fit in with the other guys on my list but I think he should turn into one hell of a player. It`s Funny how knowbody would have reacted if I picked a 16 year old who`s yet to be drafted.

Martin Brodeur
I'm surprised at how much emphasis fans always put on goalies being the Backbone of the team and only on person has mentionned a goalie so far.
Maybe it's because most feel that Theo is the best possible goalie?
Well. My two cents. Brodeur is the clinch goalie and IMO the Habs would be a better team with him in nets.
Brodeur > Theo
Yes I honestly think Brodeur is better than Theo.
