Granted, but it was really disheartening seeing the "Randy Jones will cost the Kings at least one playoff game" prediction come to fruition in OT, game 1 at Vancouver no less.

You do realize hes a legit top pairing defensemen and was widely considered our best D-man last year.

He wasn't good at all last season, relative to the rest of the league. But i suppose he could get better. The other two guys are clearly plugs at this point. But is Randy Jones better? No. They're all depth.

No, i'm comparing his value relative to the rest of the NHL. Big problem: He didn't play a full season.

Tampa has seven defensemen signed already, so where would Jones be located on the depth chart? I don't see a problem if he's a playing minimal minutes or being the 7th d-man.
