I am a first time user here, and i just saw this and i have been around the city watching some aaa and aa games during the year. There are many kids on here that i don't agree with, and there could be many additions as well. Also, i happened to watch some playoffs between the Hawks and Warriors, and there's a GIRL on the hawks! Anybody heard anything about her before? Last name Bracken.
tess bracken , she pretty good although apparently falls behind a bit each year
Should be a good year. Lots of players have grown over the summer , looking stronger than before. The Winnipeg Sharks have a strong team with players who know each other well and solid goal tending. The newly formed Rural league will no doubt have some growing pains , but should give lots of players a chance to showcase their talents. In Virden at the Sw Cougars invitational tournament Pembina Valley Hawks showed a lot of depth and will keep the city teams busy in exhibition games Also looking strong the SW Cougars and Brandon with a goalie that will keep them in a lot of games.
Miller may be big enough, but interesting to see how the new head shot crack down limits his game. At the AAA tourney out in Virden 2 weeks back, averaging 15-20 penalties a game, kids getting ousted for any sort of head contact.
Given Miller's attitude and ability to fly off the handle...was at a spring hockey game this past summer, saw him two-hand a referee across the legs cuz he didn't like that the ref kicked him out.
Dallas Miller: 32 goals,22 assists,5 power play goals,2 short handed goals for a total of 54 points with 40 minutes in penalties all as an under-age player in the Bantam 1 division. Second over all for goals scored last year and did it in only 28 games. Curious as to where some of your kids played last year and what they accomplished? Everybody talks about this kid having anger issues and that cant be any further away from the truth. He is a hard nosed player that likes to rush the puck and mix it up when he can. Tell me what you don't like in a player like that? Head shots are being called in every league and more so during exhibition games. It's a new rule and it will take time for EVERYONE to adapt. Enjoy the season and most of all have respect for all players and officials...they work hard and deserve it.
I like his game, still learning but great first 2 steps, tough, skilled and plays on the edge. Is there anyone on the Sharks that can keep up to him or compliment his game?
I know of a couple on that team that are going to do very well. Go to the games and I am sure you will see who I am talking about. Think you might even get a surprise as to who the top skater(s) will be this year.

That's interesting to hear. I heard she fell behind due to an injury 2 years ago, but picked it up last year with the Hawks. Assistant captain and allstar game i heard! Dont see that very often.
Don't judge players by who made allstar teams. All teams are represented but, some do not have any players that would be deserving. Allstar games should be picked with the top players available regardless of how many teams. Hawks had a few "allstars" on D.
The Sharks problems may also stem from their resident stud player slagging his teamates and coaches on FBook. Also, the coach kicking that same player off the ice at practice cuz the kid was throwing a tantrum about a position change. Stuff like that.
That being said, Brandon, after years of having sand kicked in their face appear to have a team to be reckoned with this year. Strong showing against T Bay, beat the Sharks. Lot different than the 12-0 shellackings they were getting last year.

Not sure why you come on here slagging the kid, your no better. Seems you have a paticular interest in coming on here and slagging that one kid. All 3 of your posts so far mention him and never in a good way. Sounds like you have a beef with the kid. Give him some slack. He is a good hockey player. Maybe reread the post stix had posted. Might give you some better insight on the kid.
Like Stix said!! Enjoy the season and most of all have respect for all players and officials...they work hard and deserve it.
There is no denying the the kid's talent, his ability to take over a game and by no means am I meaning to take away from that talent. However, over the years, have seen many, many talented kids be done in by their attitudes, and it is always a shame. Hopefully for his sake, he gets his head on straight and decides to do what he does best on the ice, as he has not done that so far this year.
Did anyone hear how the Bantam AAA showcase at the IcePlex went this past weekend?
www.winnipegaaa.com says different, the kid has gotten 5 points in 3 games. Pointless in the 3rd game so 5 points in 2 games actually. Not sure where you get your stats from but mine come from the link above.
