Looked up the game summary for the Wild/Canes game from earlier today...

there were 85 faceoffs in the game! Crazy.

Apparently Jokinen is playing C this year even though he's listed as a LW on Yahoo. Sure as hell helping me out in the FW stat. He alone won 15 today. Staal had like 7.

Yeah, I have Jokinen in a league where faceoffs count, too...

In a 20 team rotisserie league (2C, 2LW, 2RW, 2 util for potential forwards) I have Toews, Lecavalier, Arnott, Handzus, J. Jokinen and Andy McDonald who all take faceoffs. If I don't win that category, something is seriously wrong.

Koivu had 23 faceoff wins today.

Calgary's going to have a rough time scoring goals if they're always killing penalties.

Colorado won over Chicago on a really nice, patient play. Very good game.

Is that Coburn's new wife in his pic? If so, Birdman didn't do too bad for himself.

Also, Chris Pronger's daughter (I assume that is her next to him at the buffet line) is pretty cute.

Mrs. Holmgren looks like she was pretty nice about 30 years ago, too. Definitely an upgrade over Mrs. Lukko, who may or may not be butch.

Oh burn:

October 9, 2010 - The Chicago Blackhawks raise their Stanley Cup banner prior to their season opening game against the Detroit Red Wings. The moment is marred somewhat when Detroit third-liner Kris Draper surveys the rafters and comments "Wow, Chicago, you've won four Stanley Cups? Me too!"

Did it sound like the fans were supportive, as the analyst said, or jeering? I have a feeling if that happened in Philly, we'd hear about classless Philly fans by at least one or two.

That they were still cheering even though Ivanans couldn't get up?

Seemed to me they were still cheering the fight, and they were quieter in the middle and then applauding him going off the ice.

Sounded like the Oilers were playing something on the jumbotron which really isn't kosher.
