He had a groin injury at the beginning of the year. Happened in camp, I believe... didn't miss too much time (if any), though.

Not only because we gave up Carlson, but also if they could have waited a week, there was a very good chance Eminger would have not been qualified by the Caps. If he was an offer sheet would have cost a 2nd round pick. The impulsive need for Holmgren to get his guy regardless of the cost is what burns him.

I would love to play Holmgren in poker.

He would completely suck... you could just bait him into jumping the gun every time.

Rick DiPietro will wear pink pads and use a pink stick during the 'Hockey Fights Cancer' awareness month.

It'll be interesting to see if he sticks with it all month...who knows how it helps him fair in games.

FACT: The Flyers would be defending Stanley Cup Champs if we would have traded for Roloson.

What would Roloson have cost again? IIRC it was reported to be like Parent+2nd right?

I dont think we had the cap room for Roloson, without losing a big piece. As much as it would have been great

And PH was hesitant since Roloson wasnt a UFA at years end

When LA picked Jones most of us knew we were cap ****ed but yes I agree with you.

what can you do? Right?

P.S it's amazing how good he looks at his age. He looked good last year too. 50 games with .907 behind that crap team not that this current NYI team looks any better

To GKJ: You locked my thread. wtf? I could of just asked that same question with out quoting anything from that article. Which by the way has some strong legit points. There is a reason why it was blocked because it's rising a concern. Comcast can not stand any kind of criticism. We are the best, this city is the best, medical staff is the best, fans are the best, commentators the best, best prices. Main time we can not tell groin injury from concussion and make trades like Gagne for injured Walker and put injured players on the ice not to mention giving jobs to friends and family, people that did something at some point in the past. Bla bla bla ****ing bla.

All I had to do is remove the link which was no longer valid.

A guy like Chris Stewart could fit very well for us.

I still think we are missing a guy who will get crash the net. I believed at one point Scott Hartnell could provide that, but as time progresses, that is becoming not true.

Hartnell hasn't been used here the way Nashville used him at all. He scored a lot of goals in Nashville hanging around the mid slot...With Stevens, everything was in disarray and guys kinda just did things. With Laviolette, it doesn't totally cater to his game.

Exactly. Laviolette's style does not benefit Hartnell.

Hartnell's Average Shift Under Laviolette:

Defense gets puck.

Fast break!

Skate. Skate. Skate. Quick breather. Skate.

Receive pass.

See defenseman.

Slap pass to try and fake out defense though it won't work.

See teammates battling along the wall after mishandling the "perfect" slap-pass and help out.

Battle.

Fall down.

Get up.

Skate. Skate. Skate. Quick breather. Skate.

Defense gets puck.

Make sure the puck is cleared and watch Leino (or another forward) give chase.

Hop onto the bench to chug a gallon of water.

Repeat.

Brendan Mikkelson was picked up from the waiver wire by the Flames. A bit surprising, I thought they were pretty high on the d's they already have in their system.

I honestly don't remember the way he was used in Nashville. I'm thinking it's just the system we play here. Doesn't fit him, at all.
