This year and next year is what he's under contract for, and this year isn't really a huge issue.

It's next year that's the question mark because there's zero way to get rid of that cap hit and if he decides to retire you basically have a 5M cap penalty

although it is a minor trade the fact that it comes right before a kovie deal makes it more interesting.....i just dont know if any of NJ's dumps would intertest Toronto

Zubrus, Rolston, Salvador all decent enough i just think there are cheaper comparables ou there

Rolston plus first round pick (I hear Toronto needs one ) in exchange for Finger (we'll dump him in the minors) and a mid-to-low level prospect.

I think this is the trade that was holding back the Souray trade in Edmonton.

Could also help speed up the Bobby Ryan signing..... Good eye team.

I wouldn't be shocked at all if this lashoff trade leads to something bigger
so Versteeg's gonna play in net ?

Too bad the Leafs don't have all that much cap space either. If the Devils move someone, its likely an expensive contract and not Langenbrunner who only makes 2.8mil. They would need to dump ~5mil and the Leafs can't fit that in right now. Rolston would likely be the ideal player to trade but almost impossible to find a taker and he needs to waive his NMC. Salvador would likely be moved but the Leafs aren't looking for dmans. Zubrus is likely on the market but i doubt he's much of an upgrade over what the Leafs have in their top 6 and paid too much to be on the 3rd line. Their other option might be Arnott (although unlikely since they need him to be the 2nd line center, he might be the only movable option) and he's the only one i see the Leafs having interest in but how can the Leafs fit 4.5mil in? The Devils likely don't want salary back if they are dumping (or not much anyways).

I'd be interested in Langenbrunner for the right deal, but other people (like you said, Zubrus, Rolston, Salvador) need to go first.
but he's 35

Wow tampa is so lucky to get chris berry AND richard gelato, i could see both being ppg players in the NHL. Once chris berry learns how to skate backwards hes going to be a force !!!!

Lamoriello wouldn't trade 3 years worth of first round picks, what do you think he's Brian Burke.
