Another reason to hate Kaleta.

well, it's probably the end of the road for Kariya.

if not becasue of his injury, because of the fact he's a mid-thirties winger with serious injury concerns, coming off of a fourty point season. unless your out of the race or your winger depth is horrific, I don't see him fitting anywhere.

Sad news. The way he left the team may not be all classy and was shocking to all Ducks fans including myself, but hey it doesn't really matter. It's what he did on the ice that made me proud of him.

He was the reason why I started to follow this sport. Not Sakic. Not Fedorov. Not Jagr. I believe that at one point he was the most exciting player to watch.

Anyway, hopefully we'll see him again playing in NHL. Come back Paul!

Its a shame but also refreshingly wise to go ahead and sit out rather than try to push on and risk permanent damage.

I fear that Jason Arnott is one more head-knock away from serious problems.

The NHL needs to get focused on finding a whole new level of headgear to help prevent these things.

Actually it was what he did on the ice that made me dislike him more and more. The guy basically phoned it in during last few years in Anaheim. Indifferent defensive play, strictly perimeter player on offense, tons of cherrypicking ... he was probably the most overrated "superstar" in the league in the early 2000's.

It's amazing what getting your head caved in multiple times will do. And he was still one of the premiere players in the game.

Anyways, this is definitely a sad day, the second jersey I ever got was a 2002 Team Canada PK jersey. Also the reason that I started wearing #39. (Used to wear 30, goalies don't wear 9)

It seems pretty serious already when you get concussed the way Arnott did when Radulov jumped in his arms to celebrate a goal. When Arnott was slow to get up and then grimaced and seemed to be inhaling deep after getting back to the bench, I wondered if he got the wind knocked out of him or if he hurt his knee again. The thought of concussion never even crossed my mind at the time. He then missed games because of "the flu", and later it was explained he had had a concussion. You have to wonder how much games players like Arnott and Kariya have played while "only" being mildly concussed... Arnott probably retires after this season, no matter what happens.
