I went with my heart on this one. As a Wild fan, I am hoping Eero Elo has a good season and picks up the Jarmo Wasama.

Pulkkinen is still a rookie?

Actually I had considered that Donskoi or Julius Junttila would win that award. But Pulkkinen has been really good in exhibition games and he might be easier to hype so now I would say Pulkkinen.

List of eligible players (at the moment still missing some names, like Michael Keränen): LINK

Since the upcoming regular season has 60 games, I guess that the cut off is now 20 games (1/3).

Toni Rajala - 21 SM-liiga regular season games
------------------------------
Eero Elo - 19 SM-liiga regular season games
Joonas Donskoi - 18 games
Antti Kerälä - 15 games
Teemu Pulkkinen - 15 games

I don't think that Junttila has a chance of winning, Donskoi and Komulainen have been better during the pre-season and are ahead of him in the depth chart.

I was thinking that Elo, Donskoi, Pulkkinen, Komulainen, Kerälä and maybe Keränen have a chance of scoring 20+ points this upcoming season, if given enough ice time, and are therefore good candidates for winning the award. Apparantely Alatalo has been pretty good in pre-season games and might get some power play time and points as a fairly offensive defenseman. Järvenpää and Aittokallio could steal the starting job as netminders, and Ortio could get some games if Engren gets injured.

I'm going with Järvenpää. Has potential and with Kilpeläinen as the other starter he has a good chance to do a "Rynnäs" the upcoming season.

Pulkkinen is the strongest candidate with long marginal if he stays healthy enough. Donskoi is another candidate. I doubt that Elo will get enough ice time to compete for this. What I have heard (and seen once) he has been disappointing (though 2+5 points but with the best players of the team) ...

Judging by the performance he put out today in a warm-up match against the Blues I think he will be a good bet actually. He bagged two goals today and has consistently looked good throughtout pre-season.

Six wins and one tie (OT-win) with a 1,71 GAA and a save% of 93,78. Though Kilpeläinen has been really good so he will not be getting enough games to really challenge Pulkkinen.

Noone really saw Armia coming, but yeah Pulkkinen is going to win this.
