"Its the Final Countdown"....

Only hours to go to see if we sign Lambert and Deveaux!

It has to be a numbers game right now, I can't see why Gainey and Savard wouldn't want them in their system to give them a chance. Unless they are focusing on having Locke, Urquhart and some other signed instead? Aren't you allowed only 50 signed players in your system????

3:00 pm, it is now 7:23 am..........a little over 7 1/2 hours to negotiate and send it to head office or it is see you at the draft.

Well, no need to get very excited, I'd say: sometimes these things aren't known for several days after the deadline. Beyond that, I don't think either prospect is really much of a prospect. If they haven't been signed by now, with these two guys, it means one of two things:
1) The Habs just aren't interested in signing them.
2) The players/agents are just asking for too much money, which is completely ridiculous for longshot prospects like this.

Either way, I'm not bothered if they don't sign. If it's due to Case 1), then I figure Gainey's team knows best. If it's due to Case 2), then they're cordially invited to walk, because they should just be happy to sign for any amount and get a chance... who do they think they are?

Its' 5 pm for the deadline, but it could be as late as tonight or tomorrow before we hear who's been signed and who's going back in.
