people forget, or perhaps they never knew to begin with, but pavel valentenko, if healthy, is one sob to play against. 6'2 220.

i remember him playing in the a for hamilton and he is mean and nasty. almost dirty. he was always making life miserable for opposing players. he even looks mean.

if we are looking for a nasty, mean, vicious, physical, stay at home type to protect hanks crease and throw the lumber, this is the guy we all should hope make the team.

this guy is not pleasant to play against.

it would be funny if both valentenko and MCD make the team...the blowmez trade would be sickeningly one sided if they did.

He's also barely played any games in the last 2 years because of injury, so I'm not quite holding out hope for him to make the team this year

Agreed. It is just a matter of whether the organization thinks he is physically up to jumping straight to the NHL after missing most of last season. I would love to see a McDonagh-Valentenko pairing. Montreal would be pissed.

I'm a big fan of Val making the team mostly because like ODC said he really does fit the bill of a d-man you dread seeing on the ice. Big, nasty dude.

However, if him and Mcdonagh make the team I just think people will run over them sadly. Hopefully i'd be wrong.

I would also like to see both McDonagh and Valentenko make the team with Semenov as the 7th. It would be nice to have a bomb from the point as well.

As for the Devils lineup, I didn't give it too much attention, but I do wish Avery was playing against kovie

Valentenko or Sauer, whichever plays better, I would love to have.

Valentenko brings a dirty defenseman, which we havent had since Kasparitus really.

Sauer brings us another Girardi potentially which we could really use right now.

Now we're agreeing on something. This guy is a complete a-hole to play against. Better he's with us than with somebody else.

How has Val looked so far? I think a few pages back one of the Twitter feeds said he did something pretty sweet.

If not this year, i'd absolutely love to see him next year next to a more experienced Ryan McDonagh.

if he makes it, its as a 7th d unless of course, redden is dumped.

i would expect he would dress if we have an injury or if mcd needs a night off.

if healthy, he should make this team. he adds a bit of spice to the lineup.

staal-rozy
girardi-mdz
mcd-sauer/gilroy/semenov
valentenko

eminger and xlb are both bums.

redden is the wildcard.

Does anybody know where I could find what numbers everyone will be wearing tomorrow? Sadly, I'm not rich enough to sit where I can easily read the name plates.

Kennedy, Semenov, Weise, Sauer and Stepan are the ones I really have no clue on.

The Parise-Zajac-Kovalchuk line will be in tact for tomorrow. Marty is in net as well.

The more I think about this the more I can't believe Avery isn't going to be in the game.

I would be cool with a new Vally on the team. He's a tough kid with a big shot.

Thinking Gilroy may get the boot but hey we will see

No the rookie game was cheduled to be open to the public but by request of the new york Rangers the game is now closed and moved to the Devils Practice rink. The Rangers crappping on the fans continues,

another example of the corporate mentality of the nyr.

exactly why not build excitement by allowing the fans to watch the rookie game ?

this organization is full of fail.

Valentenko got a rocket of a shot. His shot from the point can really help the power play.

Similiar thing happened last year at the teams "picnic" at the practice facility.

There were supposed to be players there for meet & greets, but something came up and we only got "fan favorite" Tyler Arnason. Meanwhile, just inside the building was a rookie-game going on, but nobody was allowed in to watch (meaning us long-time season ticket holders who pay good money to this team).
