Don't worry Hiller we have McGlovin to back you up!

I really hopes Niemi signs with Philly and they go with a Leighton/Niemi combo with Boucher in the minors.

Boucher would not go to the minors, he go to the waiver wire. We got Backlund and Bob down in the minors. And with Bob just coming over he needs to get accustomed to the game over here. Not going to give his time to Boucher

Just looking the article over and the reporter is Jessee Rogers the biggest buffoon in the industry. Id take the report with a grain of salt. The source is obviously Zito who found a stooge who would print whatever he wanted without referencing him as the source. My guess is he trying to get some leverage to get someone to offer a contract.

Whatever I'm sure there is an AHL team that would love to have him on a loan after he is waived.

possible but I'd be upset. Leclaire's problem was he was in bad shape, always has been. The Sens staff forced him into getting into great shape for this year and seem pretty confident in him. Even so, Niemi's price tag makes him worth no more than Elliott. We're not gonna spend a ton of time in our zone. If we get a goalie, I'm hoping we send Fisher+Wiercioch for Vokoun.

Eklund read the bogus Jessee article and posted it and embellished a little. The internet age of (lack of) journalism.

Niemi wont get anything close to 2.75 either.....He will get 1.75 -2.25.

In the end he will figure out he should have just taken the Hawks offer.

This whole situation is a fantastic example of a player agent pushing the envelope while leaving his client out of the loop...

No chance at Niemi to EDM IMO unless Khabibulin will not be back. My money is on the Islanders.

My crazy prediction. Detroit offers a 1 year, 1.5 million contract. Ozzie goes on LTIR with a mysterious illness. Niemi and Howard split games.

If David Pollak says he isn't coming to the Sharks, then he isn't coming to the Sharks.

I agree it might just be the Islanders to split time with Roloson, but if DP makes it back, it creates an interesting scenario.

Also, I could see Edmonton signing Niemi as insurance if Khabs gets a sentence that protrudes into the season

Healthy Leclaire, who is on his game >>> Niemi

Elliott is a step below Niemi, but not by much. They are both solid, but can't be relied on to steal games.

Also, there is no way he ends up in Ottawa, not enough cap space, etc.

He'll sign with the Oilers or the Islanders IMO. Oilers make sense if Bulin can't play. He'd be a good addition for the Islanders so they don't have to rush DiPietro back. Let DiPietro sit for most of the year and rest, have Niemi and Roloson split. When/if Roloson leaves next summer, re-sign Niemi if possible. If not, at least DiPietro had time to get healthy.

I doubt he ends up in Edmonton. It's hard enough to lure free agents here. Sad as it sounds, we have to stand by the drunk driving ret@rd.

I see something completely out of the blue happening...like he signs in Calgary for a year and proves to the Sutter's that Kipper is still their man.

I'm going to guess the Oilers or the Islanders. Slight edge to the Islanders though.

Maybe Dallas? They have $11 million in cap space. Niemi and Lehtonen would be a good duo for them, IMO.
