Ah that's a bit easier to swallow for me. It's silly, cuz I'm not paying it, but still...

Also, I acknowledge the point you're making Kriss E, but to me, Halak is paid just right and that's part of the new outlook from GMs on what goalies should make. It seems like GMs this summer told everyone : "It's not because you're #1 that you're a top goalie, and we have to evaluate your performances on a different scale than forwards and dmen". But I agree that Halak is a really good deal compared to a lot of other goalies. At the same time, he's a bit risky since he doesn't have a long history of success. Altogether, with how GMs have handled goalie contracts lately and his lack of achievements halak is paid just right IMO.

PG
Considering the mess Gainey left him, he has done a reasonable job this offseason.

A bit Pricey (eh?) IMO, burt I was gunning for a nice 2.2-.5, so an extra .4 isn't enough to complain. I'm happy he's finally signed, and that we can all discuss more important things.

Great news. Glad that is out of the way. Can't wait for the season to start. Looking forward to seeing Carey play with a better D (Subban cometh) in front of him. This season is going to be EPIC.

Price definitely looked better as the season wore on and the D came together

Slightly overpaid which was expected given the situation but reasonable.

Hope he can find his touch and get more offensive support this year.

This pretty much sums it up for me.

Price is overpaid atm given what he's accomplished. I don't think he deserves what he's gotten. He's still banking on that 1st season + part of the 2nd season, on top of his draft status.

But I also hope that the habs can be a better team for him. I think Price can be a good goalie for a good team. But I'm doubtful he can be a good goalie for an average team. We'll need better performances from our forwards and dmen this season to go anywhere.

A bit overpaid, but not by much. Irrespective of all other offseason moves, I'm glad this is over with.

I was hoping for 2.25 to 2.5M but I won't complain that he got .25 more then what I would have originally allocated for. It certainly won't be the straw that broke the camel's back.

Here's to hoping he's plays to that value (which I hope so, it's not a huge number) and even exceeds it.

He hasn't proven anything. Half the city is in shock that Halak has been traded. I don't see your point. Where would he command that money elsewhere had he not started his career in Montreal? If he had started in San Jose, he'd be washed up by now.

That might be a bit of an overstatement, but it's closer to the truth than everyone annointing him a savior just because he's 6-3.

pekka rinne had similar numbers and nashville is treating him as a legit starter...

Why anyone was worried totally boggles my mind.

Now we can go forward...however I would like to see the Habs offer Guerin a one year for $1,000,000.

In 41 games last year he had a .915 save percentage.

Yep, he'd be straight to the AHL I am sure. Hate those 22 year old goalies with good NHL numbers.
