So, Pouliot scored 2 goals tonight.

Damn, looks like Benoit is playing much better when Gui is hurt...

Pouliot could score 40 this year and I wouldn't be mad or regret that trade.

Exactly. It obviously looked like he wouldn't have done that here. I'm still very happy with the trade.

yup, couldn't agree more with that.

both (him and Lats) were going to nowhere with their former team and now, everything works fine. Good for Ben.

Like Jacques said, Benoit needed to get into the pressure cooker that is Montreal to start to perform, Gui needed to get out of it. Neither would be getting 2-goal games if that trade didn't go down.

Actually Pouliot is performing a lot better when he's not a in top line roles, he still have trouble with the pressure of being a top 6. I still think that Latendresse have more raw talent than Pouliot, I haven't see anything yet in Pouliot outside of being an opportunist and streaky goal scorer, not bad but Latendresse have a better hockey sense, is stronger on the board and a lot better hands.

Right, but regardless if he's on the 4th line playing the goon role or on the 1st line playing the sniper role, Montreal's media and crowd puts crazy expectations on their players and they let them know it if expectations aren't met. The point I was trying to make was that he plays in the frying pan known as Montreal, not that Benoit performs better when he's on the 3rd line.

Two games without a goal and he'll be back as the scapegoat.

It's Wild related, but WTF is Scott Cullen smoking?

Minnesota Wild 7-4-2

Won all three games last week, by a cumulative score of 6-3; not spectacular, but not bad considering the injuries affecting what is already a rather thin crop on the wings.
Key Injuries: LW Pierre-Marc Bouchard (concussion), LW Guillaume Latendresse (groin), RW Antti Miettinen (concussion), RW Chuck Kobasew (groin).

Not too shabby for the Flyers.

I think the Wild are currently like #8 or 9 on ESPN as well.

Well the Wild are 8th in points per game, so it's not without good reason.
