Get Greiss To Chicago

I saw this on the main boards and the guy (Hawks fan) read my mind. OK, I was talking to my buddies about getting Greiss as a backup and the fact that he makes as much as Toivonen, which is $250K less than what Crawford makes, giving us the ability to acquire a player at the deadline making an annual salary of $1 million more. We could give you a defensemen prospect or a pick. You guys have a few good goalie prospects and already have Nitty and Niemi. I think Greiss is expendable. So, what would it take to get it done?

I'd want to do a massive deal around Seabrook (Obviously we'd have to add), but that's unlikely.

A close to NHL level upper level prospect (not top level, just a guy with some promise).

I have no idea who that is for the Hawks, not up on your prospects.

Really? You're usually so reserved and conservative in your deals.

This.

He didnt spend all summer trying to screw up the Hawks just to do them a favor at the end.

Lalonde or Connelly, but a 3rd should get it done.

Suffered a concussion vs. PHI in a regular season game in only his 8th game as a Hawk. He never came back because his symptoms were so bad. I think he's done in the NHL and probably hockey.

Sure, if they accept a Hammer for Greiss and Mitchell offer.

Chicago always ends up trading for/signing Greiss in every Be A Pro/Dynasty I ever play in NHL10 so I don't mind!

I doubt these two GMs are answering each other's calls.

this makes no sense. Chicago has a starter (Turco) and their own guy who's been buried in the minors forever without getting a chance (Corey Crawford).

The Hawks have their 2 goalies already.

that .... and Greiss isnt going to have a lot of value. The goalie position is thick in talent. Supply and demand.

Unless we were getting a guy with a decent shot at being a second line forward or top 4 dman in the future (like two years) or a top 60 pick, I'd rather move him to the oil or east for less.

If the Sharks got a top four d-man out of it, be it from them or somewhere else, and Greiss ends up there, I'm fine with it. Until Ehrhoff and Blake are replaced, this team's not going anywhere near the Stanley Cup.
