My 1st choice would be Plekanec and
my second choice would be Markov and
my 3rd choice would be no captain.

The rest of them seem too glib for me and after a couple of months of their mindless politically correct cliches everybody will just tune them out (not including Gorges in the above statement).

I mean its not like we don't have any good candidates. Depending on what management wants to do there are some good veteran candidates that will be here for a long time( Gionta, Markov, Camalleri) some veterans who can be short term captains (Gill, Hammrlik maybe) and some guys who would have the potential to captain the team for even longer like Gorges.

I mean yeah maybe some of the guys I mentioned are pushing it but I mean the only thing I can see is that they think they have 3-4 potential captains and can't pick one because I don't think its from the lack of candidates.

I hope they have one picked by now and are probably just waiting for the first home game to introduce him when they present the team or something because I don't want to hear the media whining about not having a captain all season.

One guy's already got a 'C' even though it's on his back.

Markov
Gionta
Cammy
Gorges

Are pretty much the only candidates in play imo.

I'd prefer any of the 3 other then Markov, and have him were an A

Either Markov, Gionta or Cammalleri. Those are the obvious picks.....I'm guessing Gionta since he's signed long term.

I don't speak French so I have no idea if this is just him reiterating what he said in an interview a while back or not. Just saw it linked in Godin's twitter feed and it looked relevant.

I was just about to post that. In my opinion Gorges knows who it will be but won't spill the beans for obvious reasons.

If I had to bet money on it personally I'd say Brian Gionta will be the next "one".
