In Meltzer's latest post over at hockeybuzz (http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog.php?post_id=30081), he talks about the Bruins setting up a partnership with Finnish Elite League team JYP Jyvaskyla. They get to share developmental systems, coaching, and scouting reports, among other things.
Bill goes on to muse about the Flyers doing such a deal with a team, and suggests KalPa. The ties are obvious there: Sami Kapanen is the majority owner, and Kimmo and Hartnell are both minority partners. He also points out they have one of the best developmental systems in Finland.
Obviously, this is just him thinking out loud, but I think it's a great idea. I also was completely unaware of anything like this being done before. Have other teams besides the Bruins done something like this that anyone's aware of?
Anything that gets Sami Kaps even tangentially involved with the Flyers again gets my seal of approval.
