The only thing I don't like about halpern is his lack of hitting/size

That's Gauthier revenge from Yzerman lol

Does this mean Maxwell gets traded since we got another center? I like Halpern as a player, but we didn't really need another center...

I like the idea of Boyd on Eller's wing

Eller-Boyd-Lapierre
Moen-Halpern-Pyatt

Solid bottom 6 if you ask me! Disregard my earlier post, I thought Darche had a one-way contract

Awesome. Two jews on the team now

Right handed center good at faceoffs? I'm down. Especially if Laps is becoming a winger full time.

Seems like a good depth move. It shores up our bottom-6.

I would say Boyd as a winger for Eller it could work well

So there is 5 centers out of the six players on the bottom 6?

Yeah maybe that was the idea all along, they got Boyd to turn him into more of a offensive winger who has a two way game. Maybe they saw something in him.

Martin Mcguire said "One year, half a million" if that's the case, good signing!

Habs had a need for a veteran center on the 4th line, preferrably one who could win faceoffs.

Jeff Halpern gives an honest shift every time out, kills penalties and can chip in with the offense once in awhile.

+ he instantly becomes our best faceoff man

Good move...i was hoping for him or Ryan Johnson.
This is the Habs board we are talking about. There would be at least 10 pages of posts in a thread discussing one of our players bowel movments.

I have always liked Halpern, he is basically Metro, but with a more gritty and physical side to him. Can take some costly penalties though.

Fun little fact, he was on the USA Olympic team in Turin.

I was hoping for a depth forward to be added since the young players we were relying on didn't prove much recently so I'm happy with it. Really came out of nowhere, but we'll see. He gives depth, but the real showstoppers remain Markov, Price, Cammalleri, Gionta, Gomez, Plekanec, Subban and the coaching staff...

Not bad. I've always kind of liked Halpern, seems like a hard worker and a guy who plays with a lot of heart. I dig it.
