I'd even take it a step further and dock PROSPECT picks. That will teach 'em! You better believe people will be more careful when they lose their own prospect picks, lol.
Easy tough guy! (I've done this myself)

However, yeah, you should always double check the front page just to see if a prospect is owned by someone. I CTRL+F and read through it manually just to make sure.
Yes, the voice of reason. Mistakes happen.

Just a random thought/question -- can 'we' (CGB) not lock these picks/players?

I'm getting owned by Opus this week. Feels shameful and dirty.

I am not talking about docking picks if you do it once. some have done it time after time. it takes 2 seconds to look. We have this rule in my deep keeper league. of course we dock prospect draft picks starting with a 4th rounder

Am I the only one who wants to veto the Semin-Sharp trade?

Just curious as to why?

Do we know if draft picks are involved?

Because Semin is younger and better then Sharp. Since it's a one for one trade and this is a keeper league that's all that matters really.

I'm not saying he is, but perhaps is Richy is sending a pick back as compensation?

At the same time, maybe he's not as he's taking an IR'd player and that's just the cost of doing business.

No pick. Semin is injured, and injury prone

I love how everyone is hating on the trade

Semin is injury prone and I'm at the bottom of the league. Sharp is having a banner year and hover is at the top

The move makes sense for both teams

I'm a seller as well, not that this should come as a surprise.

Another season down the tubes...

Injury prone? What?

06-07: Missed 5 games.
07-08: Missed 19 games.
08-09: Missed 20 games.
09-10: Missed 9 games.

Not only is that too short of a sample size to draw a conclusion from, but he missed less then 10 games twice and never missed more then 20 games. That averages out to 13 missed games per season and considering that he's more then capable of putting up above PPG numbers, you're really not missing a lot of production. Even assuming that he misses 15 games, he'll still outproduce Sharp's career high in points as long as Semin plays at PPG (which is entirely realistic) while being three years younger.

Semin is three years younger and injury prone according to you and Hover yet Semin's outproduced Sharp already in career highs:

Sharp's career high in goals: 36 (which is far above the norm for him)
Semin's career high in goals: 40

Sharp's career high in points: 66
Semin's career high in points: 84 (despite missing 9 games)

Number of times Sharp has hit 30 goals in his career: Once.
Number of times Semin has hit 30 goals in his career: Thrice.

Number of times Sharp has hit 40 goals in his career: Never.
Number of times Semin has hit 40 goals in his career: Once.

Despite Sharp having 99 more games of NHL experience and more NHL season in the books and despite Semin being three years younger and supposedly "injury prone", Semin has outproduced Sharp by a lot already and he is clearly the better player.

Even in 08-09, his season with the least games played in it with the exception of his rookie season, he still outproduced Sharp's career high in points by 12. So even in his worst injury-riddled season Semin has still outproduced Sharp's career highs.

Why does it make sense to trade a clearly better player that is capable of outproducing the other one even when he misses 19 games? What sense does it make?

This is a keeper league so you have to look farther then just this season.

Indeed it is a keeper league which is why I made the trade

However, I understand why hover made the move. Sharp is at the top of the leauge in goals and even if it is only lightning in a bottle hover was willing to take that risk and trade a currently IRd player so that he could make is run.

I know why you would do it. That's obvious. Still doesn't address my last post though.

Even in Semin's down year and Sharp's high year, which is this year, Sharp is still barely outproducing Semin. Shaps has 44 points in 46 GP, Semin has 35 in 39. Sharp has 25 G in 46 GP, Semin has 18 in 39.

The reasoning for this move for Hover is that Sharp is outproducing Semin and isn't injured, fine, but he's putting all his eggs in one basket. Even if he wins this year then he still has made a big downgrade from Semin to Sharp. If he doesn't win it all this year then it's even worse.

I'm obviously alone in this though so w/e.

Exactly. That's obviously a decision that Hover made and will have to live by.

Clearly, he wants to win now.

...and then there is my team, the FKL's Toronto Maple Leafs.

Plus Semin is a UFA and who knows how he plays if he goes outside of washington. hopefully, as Opus would put it, he sucks on an egg like Kovalchuk.

All I need is 1 cup win to be satisfied. This pool is for fun not for money.

Plus Datsyuk and Spezza are already injured and on my IR

Being blunt here, but the purpose of a veto is to stop lopsided and bad trades, correct? Even if the person making the trade doesn't believe it to be bad or lopsided. Is this not a lopsided trade?

Again, I'm obviously the only one voicing my concern so it's not as if it matters.

I don't find the trade lopsided at all.

Semin's the better player, fantasy-wise, but not by that much.

I'm also willing to trade one of my top Cs for Datsyuk

Jumbo Joe and Marleau are available.
