Seriously, the Ranger/Torts love should go on the Rangers board.

Glad the Rangers got in over Carolina. Once again, the Hurricanes blow the league out in power play differential, and had a huge advantage tonight. We either need to learn to dive, or find out how much they're paying.

Only because he's a former Panther (no comments on whether I'm glad he's gone or not) ... this is just complete fark worthy...

Was a good scrap, he picked a really tough customer in Smith to go with. Edge to Smith, would've been nice if he'd shown that for more than just the first few games of the season while he was here. Good riddance.

I am stoked for Boston / Montreal. Old time original 6 hockey with a palpable edge. Going to be an awesome series!

This Chi/Det game is getting intense. Feels like a playoff game.

Congratulations to Jay Bouwmeester for not making the playoffs. Hope you never win anything in your NHL career you chump.

Don't leave Mr. 54-point -17 Olli Jokinen out of that - he's on that team too

Hmmm...maybe Calgary's problem is too many former Panthers - they've also got Nik Hagman and Stefan Meyer also came up for a cup of coffee this season.

Im not going to really jump on Olli that much, since he wanted to be here, and really cared for the team. Bouwmeester can go **** himself though.

c'mon man. no offense, but the comment above is kinda childish

saying jokinen cared about the team is a joke. he tried to start a mutiny. jay, otoh, went about his job here for 7 years. at the end of the line, he did what many of us would've done if we were in his shoes and had seen what he'd seen; he got outta dodge. horton did the same. it's childish to begrudge these guys the chance to move, for whatever reason.

If you enjoy that sort of thing, there are a few threads on the main board over the past few weeks where fans vent about what a total disappointment Bouw has been.

My favorite line (which I'm paraphrasing), "I'm not surprised that Bouwmeester is current holder of the "Iron Man" title for most consecutive games. It's hard to get hurt when you never make contact with anyone."

^ For those who missed it.

Amen too that!!!! Id love to email his dad and ask him how the playoffs are going!!! The unflattering remarks by him/dad were unecc; the karma gods are at work. Ollie never said a negative thing about florida or the panthers...

In regards to Ollie, they had a calgary beat writer on HNC (sirius radio) who said Olli had a solid second half and is working well with the coach there. Something to the effect of getting him more north -south then east west.

Sorry Zero, but I could care less if you think its childish. Ive seen Bouwmeester out quite often when he was down in South Florida, and he was a total "Richard." He showed NO heart for this team, and crawled into his shell when we needed him the most. So yeah, I dont give a *** about him, and I was a MONSTER Bouwmeester fan through his years down here.

Olli did his crap as well, and TBH, I forgot about it when mentioning him with Bouwmeester, but I think Olli showed more emotion, and care, at times, for the team than Bouw ever did.

Olli wanted to be here so much he tanked when the team needed him most for their playoff drive in order to get Martin fired. He also helped ruin Horton for us. I have less love for him than I do for JBo, who never really wanted to be a Panther at all.

Well since the Tallon regime has done everything it could to tear down everything JM had "accomplished", it appears Olli was right in wanting Martin to get fired and doing anything he could to get that accomplished. Unfortunately, like me, he was a man ahead of his time!

Not much love for my old team the Rags going into tonight. They are the longest shot according to vegas odds printed on OFP.

Cant blame them. However I never rule out a great goaltender and a solid coach. My money will say caps in 5 but my heart will say the road warrior Rags in 6.

Yup. If he hit people and was nasty like Chris Pronger or Adam Foote he would be one of the best. He plays like he's in a high level pick up game.

Losing Callahan really hurts. They have the best goalie in the series and sometimes that's all you need. If Gaborki catches fire they have a chance. And you have to think if Washington loses one of the first two games they'll start to feel some pressure.
