caught chunks of the van/chi game and sheez, what is up with ballard? he rode the pine most of the 3rd. i saw a shift in the 2nd where he wheeled behind the net, came out on his backhand and tapped a soft pass right to the chicago defenseman at the point. he had 1 shift after that where he at least made two simple plays correctly but gosh, has he just gone soft in the head. just inexcusable for an NHL dman. same crap most of us were all over him for down here: unforced turnovers.

To be fair, it looked like his arm/jersey was being held by the linesman. I thought his indecision to shoot/pass when he had a great scoring chance in the third was way more pathetic.

They could have really used Skille last night. Van. is dominating them physically.

So some good news for the Cats ownership group after the NHL extended their tv deal with Comcast/NBC/Versus...with the current deal, the Panthers received about $2 million a season from it, now they will receive about $6.5 million a season. The NHL has really come a long way since the lockout, especially considering ESPN wanted the NHL to pay THEM for broadcasting games, and now they have a $2 billion tv deal!

Man, Chicago is killing Vancouver. 5-1 at the end of the 2nd. And Frolik is playing good too, two assists and he just scored on a breakaway!

I agree. His only "good" decision was hiring a good coach IMO.

Karma blows my mind. '96 the Jets got swept @ home in their last ever (supposed) game in Winnipeg, and it looks like the same thing had happened tonight for the Phoenix franchise.
Also, looks like it may have been former Panther Ray Whitney's last game in the NHL. His body language was pretty sad/disappointed/exhausted. He is 38 and struggled most of this year, I doubt we see him on the ice again. Quite the player in his prime.

Interesting thing is that team started season with 21 players, not 23.

Tortorella gets extension with Rangers.

According to the New York Post, Tortorella has received an extension that is believed to keep him behind the Blueshirts' bench for the next three seasons....

Well deserved...

Why ? Because they once again got into the head of Luongo ?

I assume you talked about Vancouver and having kind of a goaltending controversy there...

Frolik with the penalty shot goal, a beauty tying the game at 3-3 in the third...

Schneider pulls something trying to make the save.

Luongo had to come out OF THE LOCKER-ROOM to enter the game... He was watching the game on TV... What a prima dona !

I heard the nucks always do that with their backup goalie. He's never on the bench.

If it wasn't for the ridiculous contract, who would take Luongo back to the Panthers - assuming Vokoun is off for good?
