Jason Pominville got the @#$% knocked out of him yesterday from behind by Hjalmarsson and had to be carried out on a stretcher. It's only a couple games into the season and already this crap is happening. We know what it feels like to have this happen to one of our players and I feel bad for the guy. Hjalmarsson should have recognized the guy could not have seen this coming and eased off the throttle. I don't like this hit at all.

I actually didn't find it that terrible of a hit. Obviously, it hurt Pominville, and that's terrible. But it certainly didn't seem like a hit from behind to me -- at least when i saw it.

Hope the guy recovers quickly.
It was from his right rear and it was in Buffalo's end. It wasn't even as if he was on the offensive with the puck. Check out the video.

I saw the video, granted it was yesterday or the day before, or whenever it happened. He definitely didn't see it coming, and he definitely didn't have the puck. The hit was bad. I just don't think it was as bad as some boarding suspensions i've seen. He wasn't facing the boards, which is a good thing.
It was a stupid hit, for sure. I just don't think it was vicious or anything.

My only point is that Hjalmarsson should have backed off the hit like most players do when they realize it doesn't fit the play. This is not an "OOPS I couldn't help myself"!

he's no floater, he just dont have a spot on his new coach's lineup so he doesnt fit in. honestly i think playing under tallon and deboer can spark him up a bit. he was incredible in the SEL, and he was playing great in the nhl before dallas changed their coach. after that he just lost his mojo, so maybe some time in the ahl would light him up again

Some Dallas fans blasted him as being a lazy floater with no work ethic and no 2-way, if that's actually true, I hope we stay FAAAAAAAAAR away.

Well one more player officially off the free agent market next summer as Joe Thornton has re-signed for 3 yrs with San Jose ($7M cap hit). He wouldve never come to FL but just figured I'd mention it. Though it could have an effect on any players that actually do make it to the market as their price tag may be higher due to lack of talent on the market (simple supply and demand)
