Sceviour (injured??), Belzile, Gazdic, Ross, and Corbin appear to be the scratches today.

Beskorowany starting as expected.

Vincour scores 11 seconds into the game, wow. I guess he takes this goal scoring thing seriously.

And now the Blues score, one of the invites, on their 4th shot of the game... 2-1.

I thought last year it would be tough for a rookie to crack the lineup, but this year seems even tougher.
Alright so who is everyone's predictions on the rookie who could surprise in camp and make the team?

I don't think any of them have more than say a 5-10% chance of making the team. Vincour probably has the best shot.

No fair you stole mine!

And I agree not likely any one of them make it this year with as full as the roster already is, but I like to play guessing games.

Isherwood, a Blues invite, is another Medicine Hat/Desjardins guy; surprised the Stars didn't get to him first.

End of 1, Stars can't use the PPs to add to their lead though they have doubled up the Blues in shots, 16-8.

Asked Mark how Larsen looked on the PP yesterday, here was his response:
Quote:
He's been OK. He's got a good shot, but some of his passes have been ill advised, get picked off/deflected. Smaller rink adjustment

Yeah, they just spent an entire half of the 2nd period on the PP with no result. The point play can't be spectacular.

That is the knock against him. He's not a physical guy. Therefore, take this as a good sign he's working on it.
