Thanks guys! Beginner-First Game

Hey guys,

Just wanted to thank you all for all the support in my old posts about starting Ice hockey.

Today will be my first game and im pretty nervous.

I barely skate but I love hockey and I'm starting in a beginner E league in Montreal.

Hope all goes well!

Good luck and have fun. Don't ever lose your enthusiasm. Keep your eyes and ears open and soak it all in. I started late in life myself, 24, and at 44 now, can't imagine life without playing.

Good luck and have a ball! Play hard but remember to have a short memory. Don't hold onto your mistakes -- just make yourself ready to do it right the next time.

Wow, props.

Personally I would rather take you to a friendly pick-up game to get your feet wet instead of a Beginner league but that'll work as well.

Best of luck to you and your team on your first game

Focus on having fun and try not to be too nervous on the ice/bench. You are gonna make mistakes; even the best of players make mistakes. Just try to learn from your mistakes and possibly work with others from your team in terms of helping you get better (like a mentor).

Have a blast tonight!

Don't take things to seriously, at the end of the day it's all about fun.

If ya fall, just get up and keep going. Soak up all the advice you can from the experienced guys and don't be afraid to ask questions.

Have a blast! It's the best game to play, no matter what age you start at.

Eyes on the puck, stick on the ice.

Good luck. You will probably miss the puck and fall down about 200 times each, but don't lose faith. Remember to always have fun and play hard - no classy (real) hockey player ever minds guys that make it fun and give an honest effort.

Congratulations. I hope you had fun. Listen to the other posters and don't worry about any mistakes and you'll improve each time you play.

Thanks again guys!

We got massacred 22-1 LLLOOOLLL.

Bu I still LOVED it. All the guys are really nice and they encouraged me through all
my shifts. I nearly scored once too. A lot of my friends who saw me play said I had improved a lot since last february. The team seems tight (only one guy seemed like he was a bit pissed, he drank like 2 redbulls before the game to get into game shape he said))

Anyway, Really Happy!
