So I went and got some new tires for my truck. Went to Pep Boys. Everything is fine, on my way back to the office (did it on my lunch, only needed two tires.) Suddenely, BOOM!. One of the tires explodes. Literally. It exploded. It felt like I went over a speedbump. So I'm pretty miffed, but I maintained composure. The tire has a warranty on it, so whatever, no big deal. And I'm only about half a block down the road, so I said screw it and hobbled the truck back over there.

Go back inside. There's a different manager there only 10 minutes after I left. I didn't really think anything of it. I tell the manager what happened, and he tells me that I'll have to buy a NEW ****ING TIRE AND THAT THIS PARTICULAR TIRE DOESN'T HAVE THE SAME WARRANTY BECAUSE IT'S AN OVERSIZED MODEL. So I asked to talk to Dave (the guy who helped me before), and that he assured me that the model came with a warranty. Aren't all tires supposed to come with a warranty anyway? So the guy starts speaking in half broken english and from what I could make out, spanish curse words and the like, while slowly meandering his way to the back of the shop. After around 5-6 minutes later, Dave comes to the front.

"how can I help you?"
"yeah man, I think one of the tires you sold me was garbage."
"uhhh, Pep Boys is only known for the highest quality products."
"Highest quality products? Come check this out."

Show him the tire.

"Are you sure that's one we put on?"
"No, as soon as I left here, I replaced the brand new tire with a pre-shredded one I got from another Pep-Boys. C'mon man."

The other manager comes out, and they both start talking in Spanish for around two minutes.

"Alright bro, let me see your receipt and we'll throw a fresh one on there with an alignment."

Thought I'd share this. Beware of Pep-Boys ladies and gents. So far there aren't any other problems, but I'm still wary.

I went to Good Year and bought my tires there. They also price match from Tire Rack. Got a good deal on 80,000 tires, which were like the 2nd best Good Year tires on Tire Rack. Got them installed, and an alignment. It was something like $821 total, well worth it. They also give free rotations for the life of the tires, and I think I paid $15 per tire for an insurance plan, where up to 25% of the tire life (20,000 miles) they are covered in full, and then 75% to 0% covered based on the remaining life of the tire (20,001 to 80,000). So if any of them goes, I'm getting something back.

On top of that, they were done really quickly, and really helpful. I'd recommend them.

I find it quite funny that you seem to go out of your way to be a dick when people ask questions. Heaven for-****in'-bid somebody asks a question on a message board...oh the humanity.

For a while there, I thought you stopped posting on the boards.

How's the leg coming along, BTW? I'm pretty sure you're getting back to normal, how's it holding up?

We shouldn't have to add much to make Iggy+ to work (certainly not Turner), and as long as Melo is handcuffing Denver, that could be the high bid. Of course, this situation requires a Carmelo extension, which in itself is a huge problem.

Looks good actually. Worth watching as opposed to the mess we have right now.

The only redeeming quality about the current state of the NBA is rooting against Ledouche James

Denver would love Iggy and has asked for him. Philly won't give him up. It's a moot point anyway because Melo doesn't want to go to Philly, thus he won't sign an extension.

The reason being his no-talent wife want to be back in the spotlight in a big city. Somebody might want to tell her she can't hack it as an "actress" and the all the VJ spots at MTV are taken.

I really hate the NBA, it used to be about team. Can you image Larry Bird signing with the Lakers to win a championship? The thought makes me sick.

I can live with the super team, but the decision show was an embarrassment to the entire country IMO. Also seeing how smug the three of them look in their little introduction, I wouldn't mind seeing all three of them hit by a bus. Shouldn't say that I hold no ill will against Wade.

Look at the drivel the Philly Inquirer is posting. Not sure if this was mentioned.

To make the salary work it would have to be something like Iguodala + Hawes. Denver probably demands a 1st in there too, which I'd be totally willing to throw in here. I still don't think that gets it done though considering the bloated contract Iguodala has.

For the record, I posted the Mystery Science question because I didn't know what the abbreviation was and I figured that asking would generate insults and discussion.

Sorry for going OT in the OT thread though.

I didn't know what it was at first. I believe I had to ask the question about the abbreviation on another board (I used to watch the show, but the abbreviation just didn't come to me), but there definitely wasn't anyone unwilling to answer. What's with all the ****ing hostility? It's a ****ing question. Don't be an ass.

People and their abbreviations are getting out of hands these days.

The leg is alright, much better than before and enough to allow me to work again. It's probably as good as it'll get, around 80%? I'll likely have a limp to my walk for the rest of my life...but it's much better than a year ago so that's awesome.
