A missed call will be noted on your supervision if your supervisor feels you did not call something he felt you should have.

However, I wouldn't be so quick to label not seeing something as a poor performance, especially in a game as intense as Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Even with two referees, not everything will be seen.

You may be right in that one of the referees saw it and chose not to call it, which is well within their rights. However, given that the majority of such hits are called, I am leaning towards the play simply being missed.

Both sides would be in serious trouble if not for fabulous tending.

When goalies play like this, it's too bad someone has to lose.

Yes, but both teams have wasted some glorious 2-on-1's, Calgary in particular. Calgary is missing the net like they did last night. If chances were fishes, they'd have a meal already. [edit: referring to Drury's note above about great goaltending]

I dont mind missed calls, everyones human and makes mistakes. I hate it when a ref is looking at a totally obvious call and refuses to blow the whistle.

Seeing a penalty and ignoring it is far worse than not seeing it, the ref could be looking the other way, obstructed view etc.

That is where judgment comes in. As much as you might not like it, what is obviously a penalty in your opinion might not be an obvious penalty in a referee's opinion.

I think some people have more fun watching the refs than the game itself ...

Welp, you're not going to ever see a more anti-climatic goal that could go on to being the goal that surges Calgary toward the Cup.

Oh, P.S. I <3 Dickie V

It is game talk. The basis for the conversation is Sarich's hit on Gelinas earlier in this game.
