Missing a call is a poor performance. Choosing not to call something is just a difference of opinion. *Big* difference.
A missed call will be noted on your supervision if your supervisor feels you did not call something he felt you should have.
However, I wouldn't be so quick to label not seeing something as a poor performance, especially in a game as intense as Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Even with two referees, not everything will be seen.
You may be right in that one of the referees saw it and chose not to call it, which is well within their rights. However, given that the majority of such hits are called, I am leaning towards the play simply being missed.
