Looks good to me for Koivu's last year, unless one of our prospects has a huge year and can step up. Don't see that happening right now though

I highly doubt Sexton ever hits 20 goals in the league, let alone replaces Selanne. I hope I'm proven wrong but unless he improves his shot and puck handling skills immensely he'll always be a fringe NHLer.

He is pretty fast and also tough. If he improves his speed I dont see why he cant flourish on a line with a big guy like bobby.

Fast, yes. Tough, no. He may be tough for his size and willing to throw his body around but he still has below average strength compared to other NHLers. He simply doesn't have the skill or vision at this point to overcome his size and strength issues. If you go back and look at the goals he scored last year, a lot were very lucky, either the goalie let in a soft goal or there was a fortunate bounce.

I agree though, that if he does flourish, it will be with Ryan. Those two and Koivu had fairly solid chemistry last year.

Agree, I never thought he could keep up his performance from his first few games. I'm sure I called him a flash in the pan.

that would be the defenition of toughness to me.

I didnt say STRONG or super physical.

tough means he wont back down or go light because he is small.

true, Sexton definitely has the work ethic and determination, toughness, if you will, but at his height he needs to be more skilled than he currently is IMO. Id still like to see if that Sex-Koivu-Ryan line could recreate what they did last season though.

It would also suggest that Fowler will be getting 9 games while Lydman recovers.

Carter was waived during the summer and nobody picked him up. If the Ducks assign him to the AHL, he will have to be waived again.

Macenauer and green both sent to Syracuse today. Green will have to clear waivers. Syracuse is looking pretty stacked.

So Sexton, Bodie and Belesky made it through for the forwards and Mikk, Fowler and Sbisa made it through on D? Looks like Sbisa, Mikk, Fowler, Brookbank and Mara are going to be battling for 2 spots on the top - 6. Sbisa and Fowler will either make the top-6 or be AHL/OHL bound and 1 of Brookbank, Mikk and Mara will end up the 7th defender.

Sbisa better step up or he's going to be AHL bound.

theyre fighting for 3 spots, one of which being top 4. Lubo, Sutton, Lydman are locks, but after that one of the guys you mentioned has to be our #4, I expect Sbisa to start there.

Lydman is also out as of now, so Fowler or Mara will take the other top 4 spot, with the other with Brooksy on the 3rd pair. Mikk is most likely the #7.
