It blows my mind that this song is seven and a half minutes long. It really doesn't seem that long. I guess that's a good trait.

I agree with you on that.

edit: Here's "Hit Somebody" Live from Philly. You can really hear he's struggling with mesothelioma here.

If you haven't heard it before, it's about a hockey goon.

I thought "The Trip" was the best thing I'd seen on tv in years. I can't get enough of the score which is Michael Nyman's "The Piano Sings"

the new radiohead album is fantastic. it's the first significant step forward the band has made since kid a. it's just gonna take a while to sink in.

I saw they were on, but then I forgot to flip over from Letterman, who had Deerhunter, and then I left Craig Ferugson on

Listening to "Rope" by the Foo Fighters. I'm not crazy about everything they do, but one thing is they've dont a good job keeping their sound consistent for 17 years without making it seem like you're listening to the same thing over and over again. Plus, Dave Grohl is just the ****ing man.

Hmm. Not sure I agree with you there.
I love the new album. A lot actually.
But their first significant step forward since kid a?
I've been a HUGE radiohead fan from the beginning.
And I can honestly say that in rainbows is their greatest album to date. Everything the band has worked on and built up and developed since their creation came full circle with in rainbows, and frankly I don't think they will ever top it.

yeah I really like the new album.

It is a new direction in terms of beats and rhythms.
As of now I still like Hail to The Thief the best, then In rainbows and OK computer (roughly tied for me)

see, i have to disagree. everything, imo, has come full circle on king of limbs. the atmosphere and band-togetherness that was so important on in rainbows has been combined with their affinity for incorporating elements from other genres of music (on this album, polyrhythms and jazz grooves make their first radiohead appearance). in rainbows was a fantastic album, but it wasn't a step forward as was OK Computer and Kid A. this is the first album since Kid A to make an entirely new statement, which is why it's been so alienating (as was Kid A)

yeah I agree. In Rainbows is awesome, but it doesn't stand out as that different from Ok Computer or Hail to the Thief sound wise.

Kid A is crazy and different but beautiful in it's own way.

Lykke Li is for some reason my dad's favourite artist at the moment. He loves this song.

Damn man - you got to give more love than that. I LOVED Kid A, but I don't usually listen to a disk unless I can listen from beginning to end and it "flows". With Radiohead, every CD has that quality. The more you listen the better it gets. I wouldn't put Kid A as my favorite album from radiohead, it would be up there.

Pablo Honey - very good
The Bends - one of their best
OK Computer - the favorite
Kid A - one of their best
Amnesiac - good
Hail to the Thief - one of their best
In Rainbows - one of their best
The King of Limbs - LOVING IT.

Has anyone seen Radiohead live? I saw them about 8 years ago in Montreal, outdoor concert under the stars......definitely the best concert I have seen to date.

I dislike The Bends and Pablo Honey, outside of a few songs

Gotta disagree. I absolutely loved In Rainbows and I was hoping that The King of Limbs would be a further exploration of that. Sadly it had the most similarities to Videotape which was the only song on In Rainbows which I thought was only ok rather than loved. From that point of view it was a disappointment thought it's still better than most recent albums.

For those wondering I would rank Radiohead albums as follows:
1. The Bends
2. In Rainbows
3. OK Computer
4. Kid A
5. Hail to the Thief
6. The King of Limbs
7. Amnesiac
8. Pablo Honey

This is not music that's searching out new places like Radiohead (I still haven't picked up their new album), but it's pretty good when you're in the right mood.
