So I was at National Harbor today and there is a field with a three-storey tall pirate ship and a small corsair ship, both nearly complete there. I'd say the Disney work is well underway. A billboard on one of the buildings closer in welcomes Disney to National Harbor too, as much more of an advertisement than the small site construction sign I'd seen further out the last time I was there.

Yeah should be pretty sweet when whatever is there opens.

I like National Harbor because it's pretty close for me.

Downloaded the Netflix app for the iPhone the other night...works great on both WiFi and 3G. The quality on my 3G connection is on par with the WiFi, actually. Sitting here in the office watching The Goods.

The one thing I wish it had was access to editing the queues. You can display your instant viewing queue, add titles to your instant viewing queue, but you cannot edit the queue. Cannot see or edit the standard queue.

Aside from that....Netflix wins again.

Can't you go to Netflix via the browser and edit the queue that way? It's a little less convenient, but should work.

Of course...but you already mentioned the convenient aspect of it. Im just being lazy.

The quality of the video is what gets me. It's pretty damn good over 3G (I was actually under the impression this would only be available for WiFi).

On NetFlix, I knew that this offered service was said to be coming for months, but the quality of the stream when it did get released was just absurd. Blew me away. Big fan.

I'm gonna be in Hershey from tomorrow night until Tuesday night. Is there anything Bears/Caps related I can go see? (practice, camp, scrimmage, rookies, etc)

If you drive down to Arlington, VA...Capitals' main training camp including the Hershey contracted players on-ice activities start on Saturday at KCI (Friday players report)

As a 'hockey' tourist in Hershey, not sure about in the summer, but at other times of year, it's interesting to walk in and take a look at the old arena since it only takes a couple of minutes.

I'm from Springfield, VA originally, but went to a Boston-area college and live still live there. I make frequent visits down to VA to visit my family and old friends and always make it a point to catch a Caps game or go to a practice or two. My girlfriend just started med school at Penn State in Hershey, so now I'm gonna be down there every once in a while. I'm excited to finally catch a Bears game, but it seems that this trip will be a bit early for anything hockey related. Boo.

Such an underrated flick.

I see you're bipassing Napa. If you can spare a few hours while in the Sonoma area, I'd recommend driving to Yountville and eating at Mustards Grill. Excellent fare without putting a dent in the wallet like the French Laundry would.

I was looking at route 1 from Vancouver to Toronto myself. Some of those parks in BC and Alberta are spectacular, and I'd love to go there.

Wanted to hit Death Valley, wanted to hit North Cascades NP, Vancouver and the Queen Charlotte Islands, killer whales... but not enough time.

If it's the fenced in lot where the little light house is, they have a zip line off the light house. If we go to the Harbor again this weekend, we might do it.

When we went there a couple weeks ago for the first time, we took the water taxi to Old Town and had dinner at Bugsy's. Because the manager sat us at a table that should have been set up for a large VT party, he offered us the free salad bar if we'd move. My friend said make it garlic bread and you have a deal. So we moved, got our garlic bread, and took half off the bill for moving.

Going to be down in the District tonight catching a show at the Rock N Roll Hotel. So, any suggestion for parking in the area or any other suggestions? It's 1853 H St. if that helps anyone out.

Rock N Roll hotel is nice itself, but in a very very scary part of town. Trust no one, walk in groups, that kind of stuff.

99% sure a violent crime happened about 1/2 a block away while I was waiting outside the Black Cat last time I was down.
