Look up the address if what you typed above wasn't simply a typo because I thought it was closer to 13th and H Northeast.

Don't leave anything visible in your car if you park on the street. There are some fun spots over there, but it's a little sketchy. Lots of cops though...

IRT LetsGoBears

The Black Cat? That part of town is pretty tame these days. I'll be at St. Ex tonight, and I have zero worries about safety in that neighborhood.

Finally upgraded up to 8 gigs of RAM on my home desktop. Could be an illusion but seems to be running snappier.

Anyone have one of the panny viera G25 series? Seriously considering picking the 42" up for the bedroom so I can get rid of my 32" tube obelisk.

I made it home safe! I actually got super lucky and was parked directly across the street from the club! That very small section of the road around the club is actually pretty decent. Devil's Brigade was great. Its Mat freakin Freeman so I expected as much from them! Check out Flat Foot 56 if ya haven't heard them yet! I was pretty surprised of how good a show they put on. Street Dogs rocked faces off as usual!

Question for Strungout - Did you buy a new camera before your trip? Cannon or other? Pros and Cons for someone who might be in the market for a new camera, thanks in advance

Drake - Sweet trip it looks like you have planned.

Camera stuff is like crack. Need to come up with a good reason not to get a 7D. Resistance is weakening. One of these days.

Are you looking at P&S or SLR?

I ended up going with the Canon sx20is.

I like it. Takes a really clear picture. Great digital zoom. Easy to change apature/f stop settings for manual shots. Its a bit slow when starting up and trying to take a quick picture, but focuses quickly and the shutter speed is decent. For $350...I'd say it was well worth the price paid.

The sunset setting rules. (This is a scaled down shot I grabbed from my ftp server via the iphone...the actual pixel shot was totally clearer)

I'm debating between upgrading my Canon Powershot (higher level Point and Shoot) from the S series to the Sx (20 or 30) series or perhaps getting a Rebel (SLR).

edit: Now Seeing Strungout's reply, thanks for the info. Pretty sure they just released the 30x, I may have to compare the two as I was seriously considering the exact camera you purchased, which is an upgrade of my previous 2 cameras...definitely time for a new one

Had one of the higher-end Canon PowerShot P&S cameras around 2004 when I went out west. I found it was great for about 85 percent of what you want to do, taking about 3,000 shots. Picked up a Canon Rebel 350D SLR not long afterward, then later a 30D. I've been using the 30D for a few years now, and probably took around 7,000 shots in Africa last Fall. The shutter count is inching higher, and I will probably upgrade from that to a 7D, but I don't have a pressing need right now. Been buying good glass instead, which doesn't erode in value or utility near as quickly as the camera itself. Great cameras, that's for sure.

Ha, I'd feel guilty for bringing the topic up if it wasn't for the upcoming trip. Hope you post some pics when you return. This one?

Yup. The viewfinder is huge compared to cameras I've used before. Build quality, weather sealing, magnesium alloy frame, longer shutter life, 19-point autofocus, real nice. Going to need larger CompactFlash cards.

It will also do 1080p HD video, though I don't know that I'll make much use of that.

LLC's almost always make more sense than having it as a sole proprietorship. But I'd definitely talk to a lawyer and accountant first.

LLC's should drop your personal liability while also separating business income from personal income. However there are some drawbacks.

For those who care..............

A friend who works at the Wheaton Ice Arena asked me to mention that the Red Rockers will be at the rink tomorrow to sign autographs and take pictures all day long. This will be in conjuction with a public skating session from 11:15 - 1:00pm and 2:45 - 4:45pm. Good for people looking for something to do with the family or for horny old guys to perv on hot girls in red spandex. Be sure to rock the red!
