The D is unstable without Spacek.

Are you really that in love with this team and Pierre Gauthier to the point you can not be critical of the FACTS?

You find we are getting good value on the salary cap? Really?

You don't see anything wrong in relying, and allocating close to 15 million in cap hit 3 players, 1 of which has proven to be injury prone, and 2 of them who are reaching the end of their career?

who has proven to be injury prone at 33 years of age.

So let me get this straight -- you're comparing Pierre Gauthier's management skill to that of Glenn Sather?

Are you freaking kidding me? New York Rangers are not becoming a team you model you defend for? Okaay...... And then you bring in a Sidney Crosby example? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
I'll give you one FACT : PG is NOT the guy who signed Spacek, Hamrlik, Gill, Gomez, etc... and he isnt the one who renewed Markov either.... so yeah, keep whining. That's all you do anyway, won't be much of a change.

Hope not, PG isnt that bad of a GM.

Roman Hamrlik is still the No.2 D-Men on this team, which is a problem. Otherwise, he's still a perfectly fine 2nd pairing D-Men.

Are you suggesting that PG was against the signing of Spacek, Hamrlik, Gill and acquisition of Gomez?

In case you don't know, Gainey did not make all of these decisions in his bath robe at home, alone, without PG.

This made me laugh. Gainey I am sure is such a bathrobe and slippers guy.

3) They are both the same type of defenseman

This season is Hamrlik's last season and hopefully Spacek can be traded during the season (even if we have to take on the same salary to do it).

Next year's interesting UFA defenseman are: Chara, Kaberle, Pitkanen, Bieksa, Ehrhoff, Huskins, Montador and Eminger

I would love to see:

Markov - Bieksa
Ehrhoff - Subban
O'Byrne - Gorges
Who would have to have younger, cheaper very effective players on their team? Except that next year Spacek is under contract and Bieksa and Ehrhoff are going to be more expensive than retaining both Spacek and Hamrlik considering that Hamrlik will probably come back at somewhere around 2.5 million and those other players will be highly sought after on the FA market considering how much D is at a premium right now.

IMO this is a pipe dream.
