Trade Rumors

I heard from a very reliable source that the Seadogs are shopping around Thomas and Chicoutimi has an interest in some toughness. Is anyone else out there hearing similar rumors?

As much as I hate Thomas, I would love for the Rocket to pick him up.

I think I highjacked my own tread...damm! Lets get back to the rumor mill, has anybody out there been hearing trade rumors? I'm hearing the Dogs are sending some toughness to Chicoutimi for a tender. Does Chicoutimi have a good tender who they may consider expendable?

He's a 20yr old. Why would PEI want a 3rd line 20yr old player?

we have 2 goalies of extremely high quality.

Gibson 18 yo Euro
Gusse 17 yo

but none of them will leave for a marginal 20 years old.

if you want a chance at either the offer must look like:

1st round pick
very good 16 or 17 years old player
good 19 years old (that could come back next year).

The Seadogs are deep with young talent and I'm sure there would be a package deal involved. I know that last year, team management said they would be more than willing to move draft picks but players like Huberdeau, Phillips and most other 17 year olds from last years team are untouchable. I took in a few pre-season pratices this year and I have to say that they sent some very talented players back to Midget.

Bonneau has never done anything to suggest he is better.

That being said, Saint John will not trade Thomas. If he returns, he will be given a spot (because he means too much to the community). That isn't set in stone though, because even ECHL might be a better option for Mike.

He never said anything about PEI wanting Thomas, all he said that he would like to see PEI pick him up, Thomas is a player that you hate playing against and he adds toughness to a lineup. Since you brought him up, Bonneau would also be a 3rd line player on some of the teams in the league.

I think Daniel Petterson of Moncton would make sense in chicoutimi (if owen return to moncton the wildcats have an extra overager)

Mike Thomas has done all he can in the Q. He's physically ready for the pros and at least if he gets suspended in the ECHL, he knows he deserves it. Time for him and the water puppies, to move on.

Shawinigan is now in the market for a 20 year old player. Tommy Tremblay has left the team this afternoon.

Not Cats aren't on the market for another 20 year old. They'll give more ice time to a younger player. Samuel Hodhod should take Tremblay's spot on the

Exactly, He is like Ovechkin and Crosby in the sense that you hate to play against them, but you would love to have them on your team.

I would gladly take Thomas over Bonneau btw. Bonneau is good for terrible giveaways at the worst times in a game. I believe one of his giveaways gave SJ the win in the Sea Dog home opener.

Thomas isn't what I would call a defensive liability, he gets a decent amount of points in a season, and he adds a great amount of toughness to the team. His only problem is he can play dirty and he can take bad penalties at bad times.

Bonneau just hasn't been very good. He has a very slow start to the season, he plays half decent mid season, and he closes the season on a cold run. He's consistently inconsistent.

Any other prime candidates to be traded at Christmas ?

This is if he's not making the team at Pittsburgh. I heard that he's very impressive so far at the camp!

He had a rough last game (though it was Hossa giving him most of the trouble). He should be playing tonight (Pitt`s last preseason game) which will determine whether or not he gets his few regular season games in. Either way, he will likely be sent back.

Fans in SJ are hoping that he is traded if we follow the plan because we can`t win anything in the playoffs with the goalies we have.

Not all fans are hoping he gets traded ... Depends on the deal obviously but unless a team like Montreal is prepared to give us Xavier Ouellet I'm not a fan of moving Despres.
