Surprised to see McIl rated as only a 7.0C, but also glad Stepan got moved up to a 8.0B

I think that's the proper rating based on what he's done so far. We drafted him based on the assumption that he's going to get much better.

Wondering where Byers disappeared to. Other than that not a big problem with the list.

If that's the case, shouldn't it be something like an 8.0D rather than a 7.0C?

Then again, one of the flaws with the HF rating system is that those two aren't mutually exclusive...

Because he's a very good prospect? Why do people ask questions like this?

Probably just jealous he'd easily be their best prospect.

When's the last time the Rangers had 3 prospects who were ranked at 8.0 or higher? And when's the last time they had an 8.5 at all?

Would still love to see one of those flashy 9.0s (or rather, a player worthy of a flashy 9.0) that other teams sometimes get, but still very happy with this group - more so than any other since the late 80s.

As i'll state in all prospect threads, I see Kreider, Stepan and Grachev being the future of our offensive core. And a great offensive core it looks like.

Wasn't McD a 7.5B last year? Now he is down to a straight 7B. I know it's not a big difference, just asking if that is the case.

This is my list as I have stored on my blackberry (huge dork, I know).

I have Kreider and Stepan ranked evenly.

TOP PROSPECTS:
----------------------
1a. Derek Stepan C. (AHL)
1b. Chris Kreider LW. (NCAA)
3. Evgeny Grachev LW. (AHL)
4. Ryan McDonagh D. (NHL/AHL)
5. Dylan McIlrath D. (CHL)
6. Mats Zuccarello-Aasen RW. (NHL/AHL)
7. Chad Johnson G. (AHL)
8. Ethan Werek C. (CHL)
9. Dale Weise RW. (NHL/AHL)
10. Andrew Yogan C. (CHL)
----------------------
11. Jesper Fasth RW. (SEL)
12. Christian Thomas RW. (CHL)
13. Nigel Williams D. (AHL)
14. Michael Sauer D. (AHL)
15. Mikhail Pashnin D. (KHL)
16. Pavel Valentenko D. (KHL)
17. Tomas Kundratek D. (AHL)
18. Carl Hagelin LW. (NCAA)
19. Ryan Bourque RW. (CHL)
20. Roman Horak LW ()
21. Cameron Talbot G. (AHL)
22. Dane Byers LW. (AHL)
23. Brodie Dupont C. (AHL)
24. Sam Klassen D. ()
25. Daniel Maggio D ()
26. Randy McNaught F()
27. Kelsey Tessier C. (AHL)
28. Jyri Niemi D. (AHL)
29. Scott Stajcer G. (CHL)
30. David Kveton RW. (Czech)
31. David Skokan RW. (Fin)

Yes, I am high on Yogan and Fasth. I feel they will emerge this year as borderline top 10 organizational prospects. I am leery on Thomas' size. Bourque's size has effected him, he suffered three(3) concussions last year alone in QMJHL. That's bad.

And Chad Ochocinco has to be in the top ten. He's a clear favorite to be a long time solution for backup to Lundqvist eventually.

Once we have a couple of graduates this year to the NHL level, guys like Thomas will move up into the top ten.

Laughed out loud at having the first reply by a Devils fan, complaining of course.

I think McIlrath needs to be rated higher. I see some insane upside, and Grachev/Kreider should probably be ranked a tad lower.

I can't get behind a list that has Williams above Hagelin, let alone that far above.
