Thank the lord!

I think his contributions are being grossly underestimated. IMO, he's the perfect partner for Lubo, so with him in the lineup I think we'll see a much better Lubo, which is huge.

Who gets dropped from the lineup though? Sbisa's been getting better, Fowler has played extremely well and Mikk has also been good. If it was my choice, it'd Brookbank since he's been brutal but I don't see it happening, especially with the lack of grit on the blueline with Sutton out.

I'm thinking Sbisa gets the axe, which sucks because I think he just needs some time to get comfortable.

I think Sbisa would get a lot of benefit from a season in the A

Any chance of the Ducks sending Fowler back here to Windsor now that Lydman is back? Won't burn a year of his contract.

Lubo-Lydman
Fowler-Mara
Sbisa/Mikkelson-Brookbank

I'd rather see Sbisa get some continued ice time to further show himself. Him playing one game then scratched 3 etc is not good for him

Doubt it mate, he's been our best d-man by far. Can't see him getting sent down

Im wondering where Lijla fits in all of this. I'm assuming he would be a good sub for Brookbank if he continues to play poorly.

I just really don't think Carlyle goes with basically 3 rookies on defense. At least 1 of Sbisa, Fowler or Mikkelson will get the axe and since it's easiest to send Sbisa down, I think it will be him.

i think that is well deserved though.. a year in the AHL playin top minutes wont hurt and tbh mikkelson has outplayed him and obviously fowler has outplayed everyone.. what a studd

Definitely don't disagree. While I think Sbisa just needs time to get comfortable, he just hasn't played himself into the lineup. Let him be the man down in Syracuse. He can always be called up if he's really playing well.

I think Sbisa goes as soon as Lydman/Lilja can play. He's not looked strong and Mikkelson has looked better. I'm hoping both Fowler and Mikkelson can both find a way to make it to the lineup but we'll have to keep winning for that to happen.

What happens when Sutton is healthy?

Lubo - Lydman
Fowler - Mara
Mikkelson - Lilja

Sutton
Sbisa
Brookbank

Sending Sbisa down helps, but when Sutton gets back who gets the axe? Does Lilja or Brookbank go to the A? Fowler will stick for a while me thinks.

2 of Brookbank, Lilja, Mara and Mikkelson will be the bottom pairing, 1 will be the 7th defender and 1 will be cut. Assuming everyone is healthy of course.

Of course Fowler could also get sent to juniors.

Fowler looks comfortable playing with Mara i dont see that pair getting split up if they keep playing well. IMO id like to see this when everyone is healthy. Mikk has also played too good to be taken out of the lineup, but he can easily be replaced by Brooks is he struggles.

Lubo-Lydman
Mara-Fowler
Sutton-Mikkelson
Brookbank

The Ducks will find some team to take Lilja. It isn't too hard to trade away a guy making 600k. Right now, he is just insurance for the Ducks.

You could be right, but I think Mara will end up getting pushed back if Fowler stays.

From what I have seen so far, unless Fowler has a disastrous next 4-5 games he will stay a Duck. He's the bright spot of the defense so far and Lydman returning helps us strengthen the defense. I don't think we can afford to weaken it anymore by removing Fowler (which would likely make Mara more expendable too as I think they feed off one another). Lydman returning will push out one of Sbisa/Brookbank/Lilja before anyone else.

Judging from the OC Register post, Lydman may be on the ice before Lilja!

I don't see any reason to dump the guy, especially when Brookbank's the guy you're keeping. IMO nothing wrong with dumping Brooky and keeping Lilja as a 7th guy when Sutton gets back.

Visnovsky-Lydman
Fowler-Mara
Mikkelsson-Sutton
Lilja

Hey, not half bad.

Brookbank has been absolutely horrible this season so far and should be the one sent packing.

Based on opinions, it seems most thinkg Lilja is better than Mara. Mara is not very good so I hope Lilja is better. Anyone have any thoughts on who is better?

Considering Lilja has not played yet I wouldn't count anyone's opinions on him. People are high on him because he has not played while most of our defense has played like crap with a couple exceptions. Hopefully he just comes in and slots nicely.

I just can't wait for Lydman to get some practices, contact drills, and get easily put into the lineup.

Brookbank has been bad the first 2 games but not as bad you people are making it seem. Fowler is being overated like crazy as well.
