Great reffing tonight!!!

You know the refs are doing a stand up job when you don't notice them

... and I didn't tonight.

Whoever it was, can we get you to coach game 6?

I'll pay for your plane tickets

Better than the other night, but the call on Warrener early in the third was chintzy.

I'd say it was a good reffing game if this weren't the most questionable and inconsistant call in the series.

And could have been decisive. I was livid after the penalty, and even worse when TB scored right after.

He should't have even gotten a game. There was a tampa player who ran Gelinas even worse and didn't get a penalty.

Would the reffing be good if the Flames lost? I think there would have been a lot of complaints about Warrener's penalty...

Yes

There have only been 3 games that I was dissapointing with the reffing. Game 7 vs. Vancouver, Game 6 vs. Detriot and Game 4 vs. Tampa.

The reffing was great except for the Warrener penalty, which was ludicrous, and as such I'll probably always remember this game as having very bad officiating. Not to take away from a strong Tampa Bay rush, but from the way that penalty was set up, it feels like the refs scored that goal.

There were tons of minor things in the third that were ignored, and should've been. Donovan also got his leg twisted in the second, and oddly enough the officials didn't feel like handing out suspensions anymore. If they were going to let the small things go, they should've - that penalty was a huge mistake as it played completely into one team's tempo.

You need to lower your standards.

Expecting perfection is ludicrous...especially when what we see is through a TV camera with numerous replays.

I have mixed feelings on this. I'm hoping the NHL used the mentality that this change is for Fraser and Watson's personal safety....and that they will work Game 7 shall Tampa Bay win Saturday night.

LOL, the refs have not been good all playoffs and they certainly weren't tonight either.

They did a good job, they only made one mistake so far as I could see, the problem is their one mistake was huge and I don't see how it reasonably would've come about.

Most probably they didn't want Fraser to be the focus of the attention... yet again.

And sorry I don't buy into the "he's the most recognizable figure among referees because he's been around longer so that's why controversy seems to be following him" theory. There's a reason why he's always into all kinds of controversy. There are other guys who've been around a long time and they aren't as recognized and criticized as Fraser.

Please don't assume group me with all other Flames fan. There are ALOT of homer Flames fans, and heck, I can even see why everyone hates us. But please, as arrogant as some guys on our side are, post with objectivity and quality, and not run down threads and topics because you don't like a certain group of fans.

There are MANY comments made by guys on our side I disagree with. But you guys are doing a good enough job of that here.

I would have made this, trust me... I made it to show that I respect officiating. I made it in response to last game's thread. I didn't whine in that one, in fact, I was ok with the calls, but with that fresh in mind, I wanted to give credit where credit is due. I don't whine or ***** about officiating after every single game or injuries, because it just makes it that much sweeter.

I follow a very simple rule, which I found here - it was sarcastic and made as a joke as the time, but one I really liked, and use it both when I watch hockey and my personal life (university, during finals) ...

"Winners overcome adversity adversity. Losers whine about it."

Woulda coulda shoulda...

As is, I thought tonights reffing was pretty bad. I saw things that seemed to be blatent penalties on both sides. The Warrener call I thought was terrible, but that's probably just me being biased. IMO, inconsistent reffing is one of the major problems plauging the league at this point...

I didn't think the reffing was great. From a Flames perspective the Warrener penalty and the non-call on Gelinas getting hit from behind were terrible. Tampa fans probably have other complaints to add to the pile too about tonight's reffing.
