Vote Now: 2004 Conn Smythe Winner.

game 5 is over, although the series could still go either way... the players have pretty much made their case for the trophy. members of losing teams have won it in the past (see giguere and hextall). who would YOU give it to?

If Calgary wins the Cup in 6 or 7: Iginla
If Tampa Bay wins the Cup: St. Louis, Richards or Khabibulin (depending on what they each do in the final two games)

Iginla.

The thing with TB is that they have many more good players than Calgary. If Richards doesn't produce one night, then there are 4 other guys who can do the job. But if Iginla isn't doing well, Calgary is in big trouble. So that's why I think Iginla will win it. He is more valuable to his team then Lecavalier, St.Louis or Richards alone could be.

It sure doesn't seem like Tampa has much outside of St. Louis and Richards as far as skaters go, you put a body on Tampa and the legs stop.

Anyway, I vote Kipper but I can see Iginla.

Kiprusoff, unless Iginla scores 2 more goals. Then he will probably win it.

or...

Richards, if HE scores anymore goals and Tampa Bay wins it. He's got 10 already, and 7 are game-winners? WOW!

Without Kipper, Calgary doesn't even get out of the 2nd round, let alone the 3rd round and into a Game 6 of the Final. So he gets my vote (barely) over Iggy right now. But if Iggy scores any more goals, or gets a couple of nice assists, he'll get it, because he's a good Canadian kid, and that's who they'll give it too if possible.

I would have to go with Iginla, barring two dominating performances by either Richards/Khabibulin.

Who cares. It's an ugly trophy and isn't the least bit hoistable. Give it to Chris Dingman or Kryztoff Oliwa for all I care.

So why then is Calgary leading the series? Oh that's right, they've drug Tampa down to their level and are now beating them with experience.

Calgary: Duh of course it's Iginla, he's the sweetheart of the playoffs!!
Tampa Bay: Richards or Khabibulin...buuut rather than be a fence rider I'll just say Richards!

Wow... Talk about your nonsensical comments. Trust me, Gary is trying to find a way for neither of these teams to win. Perhaps a time machine or an amnesia-ray of sorts.

What do you mean if? When Calgary beats Tbay tonight in Game 6 Iginla will be given the Smythe.

He probably has a concussion so he had an excuse in the last game. Regardless of what he did in the first 5 games he will have to come up big in the last 2 games for Tampa to win. If he does then he gets the Conn Smythe.

I don't think so, Vinny has no injury and has played like *****! Thats the bottom line, even if somehow which I don't believe he is injured, he has still played like crap for the first 3 out of 4 games in the Stanley Cup Finals, that speaks volumes for a players hart and desire, or lack there of.

Also I don't think there can be any legit reason no matter what he does the next two games to put him above Richards or habby.

Richards probably sealed the deal for Conn Smythe in game 6.

2 Goals and assist on the gamewinner. Huge huge huge. There is noone that can come close to him at this point

Calgary wins: Kipper

Tampa wins: the 7th man who gave them all the Powerplays they'd need to stay in the cup, and conveniently not see a goal which would've won the cup for the Flames.
