So, does that mean Simmer is going 2 shows? TGOR was JR, Steve and Simmer correct?

I apologize, this is just a little confusing..
Incorrect. TGOR is mainly Steve Warne and JR. Over the summer they had fill in hosts(AJ, Simmer, Versage, etc).

Love Simmer, but not a fan or Gross.

Interesting that Versage got the boot!
He may be a nice guy, but he's awful on the radio. Glad he's gone.

I haven't really listened to Versage since his days with Kulka, and while I'm not a huge fan of his by any stretch, I don't think I'd call him "awful"

You won't be smiling when you see the bill. I've been there and was shocked when I got the bill. There are better options out there.

if Simmer was a great hockey mind, he'd still be working in hockey. Fact is nobody wants to give him a job because he's a dolt.

AJ does all the 67's games.
The good news is that they are attempting to improve. Steve Lloyd and Yorkie are a good combo and I'm glad they will still be working together. If Dave Gross can stay away from the "banter" and stay on task he could be good, but I'll wait and see.
Versage has had his "kick at the can". AJ is obviously following the play by play route which may not be a bad idea given the glut of sports radio guys.
Simmer has been the best addition to 1200 since Galley left.
Hats off to 1200 for trying to improve!

Ah, makes sense now.

I stop listening to the station during the summer because of the American shows.. when I did tune in in the morning, it was always Simmer.

Anyway, JR and Steve as a duo shouldn't be too bad.

I can't believe they killed the healthy scratches, the only worthwhile show they had.

Essentially the show at 9:30 is basically the same thing from what I heard today.

They didn't kill it, they just moved it to the morning slot and gave it a different name. Apparently, this was done because it was easier for Lloyd's family life or something.

Moving from a good timeslot to a crap one is pretty much the same as killing it. 9-12 am isn't a great time for radio for most people

What they can pipe Jerome in from Edmonton with a two hour time difference but they couldn't accommodate Lloyd without moving the slot?

Sounds odd.

I've never really understood this line of thinking. Media personalities don't need to have great hockey minds, they need to be interesting and entertaining. Sure, they can't be complete dolts, but to hold them to some Scotty Bowman / Ken Holland / Bill Torrey accomplishments standard is unfair.

Personally I'm finding Simpson pretty entertaining...

Regarding the healthy scratches ... The move to the 9am slot is a demotion, plain and simple. They may be painting it as a move for the guys personal lives, but that is bs.

Hopefully the "Power hour" will remain intact, if and when the season gets underway.

I wonder what kind of tail a mid market media "celebrity" pulls. Other than their own of course.

They moved Llyod and York too as Yorkie was doing the 2nd intermission interviews for Sportsnet and stuff. I think I remember hearing that it is more accomodating for him.

Just wish those two would have kept their moniker of the "Healthy scratches"

When TGOR announced the AA baseball deal today, Steve went off on a tangent and eventually said ssomething to the effect of The Renegades and the Lynx each made some comments to the TEAM 1200 that they never talked about them.

Anyone have any more info on this? Did it happen on air?

I've noticed this too, although I would say the TEAM 1200 covered the Renegades pretty well, but I just wonder what the conversation was like when the Lynx/Renegades took the TEAM 1200 to task about the lack of coverage

So far this 3-6 slot is kind of boring. I understand it's new and they need some time to gel but I'm not sure which one is the "go to guy" for facts and which one is the side kick.

Station is brutal for **** sakes. Steve Lloyd is still the best guy they have even if he is a bit of a brown-noser.

amateur hour at best most of the time.

Shawn Simpson is so rude and arrogant

Shawn Simpson is the second coming of Jim Jerome.

I like his hockey takes but his shtick is getting old fast. For his sake I hope hockey comes back soon or he just might be done before he even gets started. Healthy Scratches was wayyyyy better.

I like Simpson. He knows like all these NHL execs and get really good interviews for the station. Plus it gets stale sometimes so I turn it off but he's not too bad IMO

Glad Lee/Ver is out of the picture, just the sound of hi voice pitching up was annoying... Kinda like as if he couldn't hear himself talk or something...

Kinda bummed that the Scratches is now the Drive (lame) I like loyd and York best and them in the am will be good on days after games but who listens to radio @ 930?

I like Simmer for the guest that he brings in but I find that he just likes to talk rather then ask questions to guest... He brings great perspective but he comes across as a know it all. Grossie is not great, I dont find brings much as loyd does for yorkie.

I would have preferred the drive guys at the in 930 slot. And the scratches as is.
