I guess Rome's syndication fee is higher than whatever the new lineup costs.

3 more hours to fill with garbage than before...wicked.

I really can't think of anything less relevant than AM radio. Well, radio in general I suppose.

At least Rome was somewhat entertaining.

Lame.

And that he doesnt have to try talking over Simmer's giggling for 75% of the show.

As long as they start talking about the whole league I think it'll be ok but with my new job I don't listen all day anymore so whatever.

This. I'm going to miss the variety. Instead of NCAA, NBA, MLB, NFL I guess we'll get to hear more talk on junior hockey

On the flip side, there are a lot of people who will be excited to hear local content all day, especially during hockey season. I always turned my feed off between noon and 3pm, as I could care less about what Rome had to say. Not interested in US college basketball or football... or baseball... or the ridiculous amount of dead air between Rome's thoughts. Great news!

Exactly.

Now all we need is some Canada wide sports programming during the overnight hours, and we'll be set. It's always so maddening during my lunch break to hear nothing but NFL and NBA at night...or college whatever during the spring and summer. Even during the playoffs and Cup final you'd be lucky to hear one hockey sentence in a 45 minute timeframe.

I'm pumped. I usually turn the radio to FM for the 12-3 slot. I only really listen to 1200 during the hockey season, and I want to hear tons of hockey talk. I think this is great.

so....is Pierre toast? I haven't heard him mentioned all morning...

Also, i'm 100% a Sportsnet guy over the last few years (check my previous detailed posts on Sportsnet vs TSN).

Mendes coming over will definitely have a big impact on me.

Good RIDDANCE.

I can't bear listening to some jackass skim sports headlines in angry old man voice.

And then there are those annoying pauses.

Those long, annoying pauses where I can only assume he's letting his editorial-by-inflection sink into his listeners' skulls.

Other than mendes, it doesn't seem like much has changed...

Less Jim Rome makes the station better

Adding Mendes is a good thing too

TSN is here.... now get rid of the stupid TGOR handle, the 61 second shootout, half hour of "filler" emails. More changes to come!

A banner ad up right now on the new TSN webpage has possibly the biggest oxymoron in sports history:

... TGOR ≠ smart anything.

That has got to be a big joke.... or do they suddenly want to be taken seriously?

Interesting how polarizing the loss of Jim Rome is. Some love that it's all local, all day, and some are sad panda's. Personally I'm thrilled! Moar Hawkey! Rawr!

Wow I thought I was the only who thought this Dude sounds eternally pissed.

It's an American show talking about American sports, not much interest to me at all.

Additionally, for those who are big Rome fans, he's still on TSN1200,it's just in a late night slot as opposed to noon-3PM. So if you really want to hear the show, you can.

Bell owned the Team 1200 for 5+ years now... this is a simple re-branding to push TSN's image. I kinda liked Jim Rome, but I take it I'm in the minority on that one.
