Haha, I don't know. I always thought he was a serviceable 5-6 guy. Never really stood out, but I don't think he was so bad.

I don't think he was the prime reason we made it to the playoffs, but I do think Morris was really useful and one of our best defenseman while he was here. I just can't understand why he wasn't resigned. He signed in Boston for cheap, we definitely could have paid him that. He put up good numbers, despite not scoring a goal, throws the body VERY well, and is responsible in his own end. There's no reason why we shouldn't have brought him back.

Fleury and Espo.

People hated Espo after the trade but he eventually grew on me. I never got over Park for Vadnais and hated Carol ever afterward.

I'll have to disagree. Morris WAS a great player until he left Colorado. I didn't think he was that good at all on the Rangers, especially in his own zone. When he signed with Boston it wasn't for cheap. Many of us were surprised when the Bruins threw 3.1 mil at him especially since that money could have kept Kessel there.

Not so much after his career ended. He was a PPG player in his short stint here though.

Rozsival. I still don't get why people are annoyed with him.

Because he made that one turnover in the Caps game earlier in the year.

This is quite the funny thread in a lot of ways. I can't really remember if some of these guys were unpopular, but none were universally beloved.

Prucha
Dawes
Vorobiev
Hlavac
Sundstrom

And, not a Ranger, but I always liked Tyson Nash for some very odd reason...

Nedved, Hlavac, Lindros, Hossa, Malik, Backman, Isbister...

I have reunited Hlavac, Nedved and Dvorak in my UT for NHL.

To be clear: You didn't think Morris was that good and you think the Bruins should have kept Kessel there.

The Bruins thought that Morris was a solid stopgap for a season until their young D was ready to step in, and were correct. Morris played well for them. They rented him for the year and got a pick for him.

Now he got signed to a longterm deal by a solid team with a good coach who relies on D to win.

The Bruins also thought that they'd rather have two first round picks and a second round pick than Phil Kessel, and they were correct again. They just drafted a franchise center. They'll probably have another lottery pick this draft.

Edit: Dale Purinton was a nice enough guy off the ice, even though he looked like he wanted to eat your family.
I loved watching Purintin play but I met him after one of the Superskates and he didnt sign my rangers flag, He acted like he was better than me, and I was only 10. Idk it might have just been an off day but when a little kid who looked up to you asks for an autograph i think you gotta

Should be renamed, rangers who you liked more than their numbers would suggest. When everyone says the same few guys (Nedved, Mara, Zherdev) you have to start thinking, were these guys actually unpopular? Most players have a group of haters, but I don't know if it's fair to say by in large they were unpopular.

Zherdev, Hossa, Kovalev.

I was also a big Tyutin fan, but I don't remember him ever being unpopular.

Hollweg was fine first year when it was exciting just to see some young guys who worked hard and hit. By 2006-07, he had worn out his welcome.

I really wanted to like Tim Kerr when he was here but he was pretty much finished. I know he was a Flyer but he was one of those big tough players you hate to play against, but would love on your team. Randy Gihlen who I liked as a kid although he didn't do much for the Rangers.

I was also exited when Troy Loney and Sergei Momeso were briefly here, and Guy Hebert.

It was Grossek. The only thing he ever did as a Ranger and I still like him to this day just for that. I have the hit on a VHS tape somewhere. I never forgave the Rangers for not crippling Johnson. He and Saleski are the guys I swore that I would attack on site if I ever met them. And I'm at least as big as they are.

Ken Hodge. The Rangers gave up way too much to get him and he was washed up. Set the franchise back several years.

I may be mistaken. It's hard to tell given the types of fans this team has. All I know is that he has to be traded immediately. And his only characteristic is "inconsistency". At least that's what I've gathered.
