LoL McIlrath destroyed that guy but the homer announcers tried to make it look like the other guy got the upper hand on him
IMHO people throw out the word 'destroyed' carelessly... That's not destroying anything.... Both players landed a couple shots... If anything I'd give the edge to McIlrath...
Although this is likely the first time Owen Sound has scored two nods on The Hot List in the same week, it would have been impossible to ignore Stajcer’s start to the season. The fourth-year OHL netminder has been lights-out for the surprising Attack, boasting a 1.00 goals-against average and .969 save percentage in three undefeated starts. Drafted 140th overall by the New York Rangers in 2009.
I haven't seen him enough, but I don't think you can rule out that he have some real potential. He is like miles above guys like Skokan and co. Will be interesting to follow him for a while for sure.
Development is all that matters for a prospect, you can be drafted 10th overall or 30th overall or 330th overall, its how much you develop from teh age of 18-21 that really sets most kids faith...
Yeah, Manning plays on Horak's WHL club. Probly one of the reasons the rangers knew about him.
Sather is co-owner of the Chilliwack Bruins.
I pegged Horak as one of our picks in 2009 in my draft preview, pretty sure it was the first mention of his name on this board. His Dad, Roman Sr, was a Czech league sniper back in the day, I liked the bloodlines and the offensive talent.
He's come a long way, but he still has to learn a few things away from the puck.

I'm no fan of the pick, but its still early. If he continues his slow start people will panic, thats a given. I just want to see some of the things the scouts supposedly saw that made them take him #10 overall. Fight videos don't cut the mustard

Ive only watched 2 of Moose Jaw's games so far this year, and IMO the team played collectively like smashed *******s. Dylan was the best defenseman in both games I watched.

How is his team? I know they made the playoffs last season but are there any offensively gifted players?
i think they might struggle some this season. the whl east conference is loaded.
defensively they look pretty good really. they've got some monsters. obviously big mac but also the new kid edmundson whos 6'4 and ehrhardt who is huge as well @ 6'4 215.
offensively, they still have howden whos a stud and sniper dylan hood and the czech kid honejsek is a player.

Well that sounds promising. I just was hoping he wasn't on a basement-dwelling team. Any chance of him being traded?

You're absolutely right. I had never heard of him until the draft, when you brought him up. Nice call.
He's a pretty impressive player. He's got the build and physical abilities that I absolutely love. If I remember correctly, I was hoping they'd pick one of those Shattuck kids with that pick.
"We're in the business of trying to win as many games as possible," Kreider said. "If that means blocking shots or scoring goals, then so be it. I was actually talking to my mom the other day and I was saying how I wanted to get 70 points. And she said, ‘Well, you know, that's a pretty lofty goal for one player in college hockey.' And I said, ‘No, I want 70 points, that's 35 wins.'"
Like the team first attitude, but I'm hoping he scores 70 points

This is all that matters. Following McIlrath by stats (although they would be nice) is going to torture some of you, because that's not his game. We can just hope we get reports from posters saying he was solid defensively.
