This is absurd. I can't count how many times a "Proposal" in this forum has been made and then magically a week later "Eklund: So and so looking to be traded to so and so and packaged together with said pick to so and so"
The Kings get jobbed on this one too. JW gets $3.5 for one more year and then if we aren't happy with his play we can let him walk or, if he doing alright maybe make a deal on or around the deadline. He wouldn't be worth a ton but he is worth more to us being gone then he would be in getting Savard.
Don't get me wrong, I like Savard but his contract is garbage and with his head trauma I just wouldn't want to gamble that he will recover and then stay healthy the remainder of his deal.
At this point there isn't a team in the league who would give Boston anything of substance for Savard. Post injury his value is going to be pretty much squat too, at least until he puts some healthy months together. Shame because he is a fantastic player but as of now, I can't see him having any value at all. If Boston was willing to eat half of his deal then he *might* have a little value if and when he returns for the ltir list but until then, zilch.
Let's forget why it's dumb to begin with: Savard would have to pass a physical in order to be traded, which obviously wouldn't happen.
But you know, keep clicking the links and reading more of them. I'm sure they'll go away.
Uhhh, he already had to pass a physical to play for the Bruins in the postseason last year. And they watch them a lot more closely after a concussion.
There is absolutely no reason to expect Savard to fail a standard NHL physical for any team. And honestly if he failed one now due to PCS the docs (and lawyers for that matter) would be looking very hard at the medical reports that cleared him to play at the end of last year.
