Laraque (he was very popular early on)
MAB (I guess he was popular in the french community)
Jay Leach (ok, he was not popular lol. I was just annoyed he was there instead of Carle)

I wonder the same. I guess Koivu, realistically speaking, is guilty of not being 6'5 and a superstar. The guy tried his best, he just wasn't big enough or talented enough to be the center everyone craved. It's management's fault they kept him as a #1 center for so long.

Seriously...Saku is the bomb.

Who said Koivu was 'elite'? I think people like to believe Koivu went around saying he's a star or something. As far as I know, he was respectful and never said anything of the sort. It's like your boss giving you a promotion you aren't skilled for, and immediately everyone thinks you're a dumbass cuz you can't do the job and you get fired. It's not your fault.

I'll agree with the flower though, can't stand him.

Up until one season ago, Carey Price. I disliked his attitude very very much, but it seems like he's grown up, and that's good to see.

Used to be Latendresse, Samsonov too. Currently? No one in particular.

I didn't dislike Koivu, but I thought it was time for him to go when he left. I guess it's probably an unpopular opinion, but I think what has happened since proved me right.

what about koivu was a lockerroom cancer that only talks to his buddies.

what about he thinking he was a number one center.

He was named captain(by the players) of the one of the worst habs teams ever and his cancer made him untradable.

Maybe the worst captain in Habs history.

But it's the management that build the team around him.

Yah, cuz Koivu was so sad when we got Lang and Plek took #1 spot. He was happy as ever, glad to be on a #1 team. I don't see where you get this info from. Lockerroom cancer? Oh god. Look, he wasn't steve yzerman or anything, but no need to base your arguements on unproven speculation.

??? Do you have any proof about him being a locker room cancer?

You seem to be making a lot of statements that have never really been proven by anyone.

Just seems strange to me, seeing as they love him in Anaheim and he's the favorite to be named captain.

During the year, even at training camp, he was happy to have depth. Are you a child where you need to twist words around? Seriously, if you can't have a serious discussion then don't bother. Your whole arguement is based on speculation and trying(very poorly) to twist words around. It's sad.

If you want to believe Koivu was some kind of cancer without a valid reason, go ahead I guess. Nothing I can do to change your mind.
and your whole argument is based on i'm a child and I twist words.

Koivu was not a good captain, just a good little player and it's a shame he was captain for 10 years and never won nothing.

Koivu never won a stanley cup(he won olympic medals as captain, but lets not count that)=lockerroom cancer. Okay. Gotcha. You're on your own here.

Anyone who disliked Lafleur is a lunatic who should be sentenced to spend the rest of his/her life watching lacrosse games. Women's lacrosse. Senior Women's lacrosse. Number ten was the quickest, most mercurial, most brilliant, dashing, original, driven, distracting, dangerous forward there ever was. Oh, there were many who were in the long run more effective ( Gretzky, maybe Crosby) and a few who were as spectacular ( Ovechkin, maybe) but no one has ever been able to pull a crowd to its feet in gasping amazement as he was. Not the greatest, but certainly, with the Rocket, the most spectacular forward of all time. Go on Youtube and pick out some highlights: watch, wonder and shut up.

Stephane Richer always made me cringe a little bit.

Can't say I hated him but....never liked him.

Yeah, Lafleur used to really get on my nerves too. The way he gave his all, the way he flew down the ice and shot and scored before the goalie even moved, the way his teammates loved him. Ugh. And then the way he was at his best in big games and playoffs. When I think back on those game winning goals in the series, it just makes me dislike him even more...
