Yeah, was speaking to the price only, completely agree it's one of the better ones out there.

Turn in your man-card this instant.

Back onto the topic of Scotch, would Glenlivet "12 Year Old Single Malt" be a good choice for my first Scotch purchase? I could grab a mickey (aka 375ml) of the stuff for $25

Thoughts?

I'm not a huge Guinness fan, but I had an extra stout the other day, and I'm now a gigantic Guinness fan.

Glenlivet is a fine introductory Scotch.

Because I'm an ass.

I hate Corona because it's everything I dislike about beer, but it tends to get away with it because it's Mexican. There was a post on the best beer thread on the lounge where some German kid was getting upity about hating all American beer, while listing Corona as one of his favorites...I can't tell you how many times I heard stuff like that when I was in Europe, and every time it sent me off on a rant.

You're drinking a beer with such a bland taste that they actually market the need to put a piece of fruit in it for ****'s sake.

Is it a better beer than Bud Light? Of course...it's not a light beer. Regular Budweiser tastes good when compared to Bud Light. When you go to a bar that has beers from North America in a lot of the places I've been over there the options are something like Corona (always in the bottle or a tall boy) or Bud Light (always in a tall boy) and that's it. You may be able to find regular Budweiser and Molson in the grocery stores, but that's generally it unless you're going to a place that actually specializes in imported microbrews (which get insanely expensive very quickly).

Regular Budweiser>corona for me. Especially in a tall boy. Beer in a can tastes better to me but to get back to my original post for whatever reason I just enjoy corona. Lol.

Corona is fun to summer drink with because it's light and it doesn't have a strong taste. It's not a beer where you sit down and have a couple and really enjoy them. It's a beer you can kill 1 or 2 cases of and throw up in your buddy's front yard.

I don't care what anyone says, I can taste the damn can.

Cans can be better than bottles, though...mostly if the beer comes in a clear bottle or a green bottle sheerly for marketing purposes (no beer should ever be in anything but a brown bottle...the effect the sun has on light-colored bottles is absurd (without looking the numbers up I believe the clear bottles block 0% of UV light, the green ones something like 15%, and the brown bottles about 85%)).

Regardless, I'd kill for one of these suckers right now:

I went on a small spree at BevMo today...
(4 pack)
(6 pack)

I had planned finding a nice tap room to try to do some writing in today, but all four that I hunted down were closed until 5...so...BevMo! I like to keep my drinking in public an afternoon affair...it's too loud to write in the evening.

When me and a buddy go to Burgatory, we always get Boddington's. That's one of my favorite beers, but even that beer has a metallic taste to it since it's in a can.

I really enjoy drinking and watching some old eps of Three Sheets...which is what I'll do now.

For those of you that never saw Three Sheets, all of the eps are online.

Allow me to help you good Sir...try these:

Or from England:

Given your apparant fondness for that Mexican donkey-piss known as Corona please feel free to try some other imports. For instance I find German wheat beers to be highly tasty, easy to drink, and very refreshing.

For easy drinking introductory hefeweizens (German wheat beers) I reccomend:

- Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier (one of the best hefeweizens ever IMO.)
- Hacker-Pschorr Hefe Weisse
- Erdinger Weissbier Dunkel (its a Dunkelweizen which just means "dark wheat.")

Given the amount of foam with wheat beers though you will need a Weizen glass. They look like this.

One thing any burgeoning beer drinker needs to learn is the importance of a good glass.

I've got so many different styles of beer glasses now that I don't have any normal glasses anymore

It's fun drinking orange juice out of a flute.
