I hope Bobrovsky gets the start Thursday in London..if I have to endure Leighton live I may leap from the upper bowl of the JLC.

you guys can blame Leights all you like but you dont win hockey games just trying to stop offensive presure 100% of the time..

i didnt see any sustained pressure from philly AT ALL... kind of sad...

all that talent but all i saw was messy passing, some giveaways and one horrible reverse blind pass that cleared the offensive zone..

god that suked to watch happen...

Nah, in pre-season that kind of stuff it routine, plus you gotta try and figure out what you have. Put the kid in.

So glad A Perfect Circle is making a return.

That's some great music right there, my friend.

I second your sentiments on A Perfect Circle. Good timing on that one too, I have The Noose playing in the background

Goalies not playing the whole game is the norm in preseason.

disagree..

i dont think hes playing bad at all.. that last goal was the only one that was even remotely blameable..it did come in sooo fast afte the first shot it would be hard to react fast enuf, but he clearly didnt react at all till it was past him..

he has made some amazing saves, and has been super steady.. but he must be getting mad at the lack of offense..

So Jones thinks that PP will be key for next season??

then again he does look like he's too much sun.

What was decent about Walker?

P.S Guerin looks too damn old out there could not get out of the zone on time when Briere had the puck, took a huge hit. Shots the puck a mile away. He is still good around the net when he protects the puck with his huge frame.

Zherdev looks explosive and shifty. That's exactly what I want to see from him.

I also think that line is getting in it's way too much, particularly Carter and Richards. They seem to want the puck too much, and it almost looks like they don't trust each other. Not that they don't, it's that each one wants to "run the line" so to speak.

I don't think Carter and Richards are compatible together.

Where Walker is concerned, he's looked pretty rough out there. His fight has no bearings on my grade, but stepping up for Leighton (haha someone actually ran Leighton) gave me a little bit of hope.

And MSE, PP and I will behave. We get along well when we're talking hockey and the Flyers. We just hate each others' OHL teams with everything in us.

Not impressed with Guerin.

Walker...not bad. I like that he has gumption, but I want a solid d man.

Holmstrom, if he keeps his head up, is not playing bad.

Nodl looks pretty good. Same with Powe.

Shelley seems slow, and to do more talking than anything productive.

I find it difficult to judge preseason hockey, but this seems about right. You can tell alot of these guys are still gettin' their legs under them and aren't really exerting a ton of energy.

It's a bad sign though that a guy like Guerin who, despite being a veteran, should be stepping up his game and trying to earn a contract. He's been flat out awful, and I can't say I'm surprised (and no, I'm not telling you that I told you so...I don't put alot of stock into preseason).

holmstrom is the only thing that saved leighton in the last two minutes when he tried to handle the puck and completely blew it, and the last goal was completely due to his lack or rebound control and heinous 5 hole. the rebounds he has let out continue to be awful. he is very slow.

its time to stop judging leighton as a temporary stopgap, forced to be a starter due to injuries and circimstance. it's time to start judging him as an NHL starting goalie, and thus far he has looked terrible in that light.
