Probably jumbotron, but I can't seem to get the NHL's video player to work- not for this, not for anything else. Anyone else having that issue? It's very possible that it's an issue on my end, I had to kill some spyware that was pretty well embedded recently, and taking it out has created a few bugs (though my system runs much faster).

Radio's working well though, thank god.

Skinner didn't look like he let his size make him timid about going to the front of the net. He almost scored there.

Wait...The boxscore says Babs scored shorthanded. That can't be right, right?

No worries, the first 5 minutes of the game were just a touching tribute to the end of a former teammate's career.

On the radio, the monotone of Chuck Kaiton that was dulled due to the suckage would break every few minutes with "OMG, LOOK AT O'SULLIVAN GO!!!!"

He assisted on the lone goal, setting up our d-man very well. he was second star tonight. He played pretty well.

We got our ***** handed to us in a couple rookie games with Nashville so I wouldn't read too much into this game. It's on in the regular season though. Cheers!!

By far the best Cane on the ice out there tonight. The only player on either team that was arguably better was Gudbranson. He should be able to stick in our top 6 if he can keep it up.

as for the rest of the team:

Positive:
O'Sullivan-Dalpe-Kostopoulos line was solid out there. Probably the only line I would say truly impressed me more often then not. They had some good cycling going at various points and I'd say replacing Kostop with LaRose or Cole later in the pre-season we could still see the same effects. They could be a very nice 2nd line for us this season if it sticks. O'Sullivan in particular was impressive, showing solid play both ways, good speed and great creativity. Once we put him with our real lineup he should really shine.

Babchuk looks much faster then he did before and McBain looked willing to throw the body for a change. Aside from the goal against on Babchuk both had solid games tonight.

Boychuk-Matsumoto-Samson had some noticeable plus moments for us in this game. Boychuk especially looks like he's about ready to take that next step in his game. But all 3 didn't look one bit out of place out there tonight, along with the other line I mentioned they were some of the few that looked decent.

Borer, good to see him back, and he looked pretty good out there.

Nash had good speed and good creativity. Wasn't afraid to go into the dirty areas either, which I see as a positive.

Negatives:
Harrison, holy **** what a mistake it was to give him a one-way contract. He was quite probably our worst defenseman out there tonight, and given that aside from Gleason and Babchuk that was our kid lineup that's a serious problem. If he actually plays over Carson I really have to question Maurice.

3 goals in 2 minutes. I mean seriously? Isn't this the same ******** we went through last season? Cam you HAVE to be able to make those saves. I know Ward looked better in the 2nd but damn, that was ****ing terribad.

Other notes:
Skinner doesn't look ready yet, but I don't look at that as a negative. He needs that extra year of seasoning in the OHL. He was getting knocked off the puck too easily and just wasn't able to create enough to really justify wasting a year and allowing him to become a UFA at 25 rather then 26 or 27 like would normally be the case. He certainly had his moments, but this isn't a case like where Staal absolutely dominated everyone he played against in the pre-season.

My 3 stars:
3: Michael Grabner
2: Patrick O'Sullivan
1: Erik Gudbranson
hm: Evgeny Dadonov

Just a one sloppy game. Coach Mo summarize it well on the postgame interview.

Maurice intentionally put too much pressure during the practice drills, boys were gassed out. We 'manufactured' it he said in the interview.

POS was our best player tonight.

Otherwise it was sloppy, sloppy, sloppy. Kids didn't stand out. Skinner was mostly invisible, he wasn't a happy camper... but it probably should be expected... too much pressure and he was clearly nervous.

I could remember few select moments where Samson and Bowman looked good, Gleason was solid.

I think Skinner was too nervous... I'll give him few more games, if he doesn't translate his game, he should stick to juniors for another season.

Can't really think of anyone else who played well tonight.

P.S. Yes... Babchuk scored a shorty... it was a nice snipe top shelf from only few feet away from the net. He wasn't that impressive playing defense though.

Oh... and Jay Harrison shouldn't be playing in the NHL.

Alright you Babchuk lovers, he might have scored, but the dude got undressed on Florida's 2nd goal. That was UGLY

But no worries, I do believe I have me a new whipping boy and that is Jay Harrison. Dude is just horrible.

McBain looked pretty good to me. He was dropping some Panthers so yeah that gets a thumbs up from me. Skinner I believe had the first game jitters, but once he got the 20 minutes under his belt he did start trying to create chances and went to the net, the ONLY guy to crash the net.

Giving up 3 goals in like 2 minutes was a bit of de ja vu, but let's get real here, Gleason was really our only legit defensemen out there.

I liked O'Sullivan's game tonight. The pass he made to Babchuk was perfectly placed. The guy has skills, I'd like to see what he can do with experienced players, aka Staal.
