If you study teams pre-season records and compare them to regular season there's rarely any correlation between the two. However, being Leafs fans, going through the past 5 years of crap, it's understandable how so many people lost it over tonight. I don't feel great about it, I'm just trying to keep it in perspective.

On the plus side, Versteeg looked really good. Like, really good.

And truculence! Lol Brian Lee thinking he's a good player.

After tonight, just tell yourselves that the Leafs were 6-2 or 6-3 last pre-season, that's what I did.

I feel better already.

That was a terrible showing, thank god most of em arent roster players.

Steeger looked amazing though. Phaneuf showed alot of potential and kaberle looked aweful

Obviously there are a few more games left to decide, but I am starting to think that our roster might end up something like:

Kulemin-Bozak-Kessel
Caputi-Grabovski-Versteeg
MacArthur-Mitchell/Hanson-Armstrong
Brown-Hanson/Mitchell-Orr
Sjostrom

Beauchemin-Phaneuf
Kaberle-Komisarek
Gunnarsson-Schenn
Lebda, Lashoff

Giguere
Gustavsson

Thanks.

I though Leafs would've dominated having most of their stars there. But that's what preseason for i guess, develop your talent. I though you had a couple good scoring chances. Should've produced more on those 2-3 5 on 3 powerplays. Those were scary. I think Phaneuf looked confused at the point having Kaberle doing the give and go. Kaberle should've shot more.

Caputi will not likely be getting that 2nd line position MacArthur is the more likely candidate...

Yah Hanson definitely should be given a shot to prove himself, he's already tasted the nhl and seems to have come to prove a point. He's huge, strong on his skates and he skates well. He has good energy and a good defensive game, he's a bright spot. Too much pressure on Kadri, he definitley should spend the year in AHL, let him dominate, build confidence, learn to play against men. He has all the tools, speed, grit, skill he just needs to adjust to the speed and strength of the nhl which is normal for a guy coming out of Junior! Definitley nothing to be disappointed about because tonight you saw the skill, but he looked like a player coming out of junior which is totally normal!

Exactly!

The people who are freaking out over this game need to remember that pre season games do not predict the outcome of the regular season....at all.

All in all I can say that while I am dissapointed, I'm not all that surprised. I mean this is the Leafs we're talking about here.... hopefully they can turn the tide tomorrow, maybe get some revenge. Is that too much to ask for?

Am I the only one who was impressed by the fact that Kadri wasn't completely physically outmatched?

Wait wrong thread.

Kaberle was Kaberle. Playing the two weakest and smallest d-men on a pairing vs a rival was asking to be killed.

Perhaps that's what Wilson is thinking. Maybe he doesn't want either of them on the team and was hoping Neil would come in and just run 'em

Its called line chemistry. Caputi would add size, and physicallity to that line, MacArthur would add speed and skill to his.

i don't think it works like that. If a team has a good preseason, that's not a guarnatee they will have a good season as they're playing against scrubs. If a team has a bad preseason, you don't really have much to work with going forward into the real thing.

I really liked Versteeg's game, he looks like he wants to prove that he didn't benefit from Chicago's offense. He has a lot of skill and speed, played really well on the PK.

Is it me or does Kaberle simply look like he doesn't care? He played with zero passion, probably because it was a pre-season game and he's a vet, but he didn't look involved at all.

Change banks.

Between my 3 kids, I bet $100 in fees are waived every month.

I think you missed Versteeg on the short list of Leafs who owned.

Only got to see the 3rd period, but from that 20 mins:
-Rynnas looked sloppy, went down really early.
-Kadri/Armstrong/Versteeg had very little chemistry, never knew where each other were going. Actually on that note, I didn't see very good chemistry with anyone on the team. The 3rd period was sloppy as it gets.
-Kadri made far too many blind passes, and one-touches that went to no one. Trying to play faster than he can right now it looks like
-Whole team wasn't really hustling in the 3rd, but being down 3-0 probably had the rookies spent.

I still don't get why we played all our offensive defense tonight. Seems like a weird split that Wilson decided to use to start.

the pp i liked the fact that they made adjustments along the way they got some good shots from the point and they made good passes during the pp unfortunately the forwards didnt seem to move to much on the pp led to less chances
