Why am I the only one that thought Lebda was utterly useless? Wilson should be readying the players that will actually play in the NHL this year. Not the 4th liners on the Marlies. Kessel shouldve played, same with Schenn and Komisarek. Guys that actually need the practice should be playing in these games. Not Ryan Hamilton or Joe Crabb, Rosehill, Lashoff etc.. Anyone else notice how easily Hamilton gets gassed? 5 steps then back to the bench

Agree?

I thought for most of the game the Leafs were pitiful inside of the hash marks.

Kaberle so failed the coverage on the first goal! Grrr! Why haven't we traded him yet?

Our offense is unbelievably fraustrating to watch. The offense looked exactly the same as last year's. Also, a lot of our players are getting caught on the wrong end trying to lay the big hit. We need to dial it down on the physical play. It has to be done more responsibly.

It looked like all our forwards have stone cold hands (except versteeg). Just very fraustrating to watch.

1st pre-season game and people want to jump off the bridge?

There should really be no expectations this season. This team is still going to be terrible but not as bad as last year. Probably 11-12 in the East.

Versteeg scored?

I still find it weird how Ron Wilson iced offensive defense men only. Maybe he was trying to see where each of them were defensively themselves... or maybe wanted to see how our forwards are defensively... Other than those two reasons, I don't see why RW would do this. I mean, no Komisarek, Schenn or Beauchemin, really? Those are our best defensive guys.

Wait wrong thread.

Kaberle was Kaberle. Playing the two weakest and smallest d-men on a pairing vs a rival was asking to be killed.

Perhaps that's what Wilson is thinking. Maybe he doesn't want either of them on the team and was hoping Neil would come in and just run 'em
Are you kidding? He was getting knocked down every second time he had the puck. He also went for a couple hits and bounced off his targets most of the time. He also could barely keep up with the flow of the game(not his skating, but his brain) against guys like Ryan Shannon and Jesse Winchester.

The kid has skill, hands, speed and vision and he's a prime candidate to spend time in the AHL honing his natural abilities against pro-level competition. He looked at his best on the PP when he was given the time and space, might as well let him learn how to create it for himself 5-on-5 with the Marlies.

This is the best thing that could have happened. I hope Wilson now will work on our powerplay as it was bad today.

Ryannas looked like a rookie out there on all 3 goals and overall this game is really no loss since its preseason.

Glad to have hockey back though!

Pretty much. I wanted him gone since last year. However, people need to look no further then the roster and compare that to the other teams on the bubble (7th-8th in the East). We did improve over where we were last year but not by much with respect to the other teams around us.

After reading the Sens GDT (bad idea), I really hope we kick their ass tomorrow. Kessel always has a good time with them so who knows

the hits in this game say different. Leafs were too physicle

had alot of trouble getting out of your zone too, kept cercling around, not due to our forechecking.

Yes, let's play our best guys 5 nights in a row in the pre-season.

Or maybe he wanted to see how they would do offensively? Either way, it failed.

well if our offense looked as good as it did last year tonight then adding our real first line should make us doubly as good as last year?

How nice

I think Elliott has the start tomorrow

Yes Kessel does like scoring on us. Should be another good game. We should have more of our regular bottom 6 players there, as more defence.

Yes, he'll have to be ready to play against 27 year olds if he makes the team.
