I know that Franson just signed on and will not be dealt, but if under different circumstances, could it work??
this is an awful proposal, both hypothetically and value wise.

closer? are you serious? I would take Blum alone over Gagner.

I would rather try and get Roman Josi.

What would it take to get him.

A lot more than you think. The one defenseman who's getting trade buzz is Franson even after the signing.

Yeah I'm sure 15 points in the last 15 games makes him low value...let's think this 'hypothetically". If you played with Moreau and Stortini/Pisani and you were meant to be on a scoring line, would you produce? not really...

and why doesn't that logic apply to Franson being paired with Bouillon?

Franson put up 4 points in 2 games once.. i guess that makes him crazy valuable.. and he does that while playing with Bouillon!!!!

We might need a back up goalie but that's about it. Our line up is pretty much set.

No room to be honest. This team was 18th in the league in scoring. 13 more goals and they are top ten. They might just pick that up with players they have now.

I'm talking about the last 15 games when the inuries piled up on us. Cogs was eventually put on the top two lines then he was scoring at a good pace. Never said he would be a PPG player, but put him with the right linemates and he'll score. That's why I think I'll hold onto Cogs for now. MPS-Cogliano-Brule seem to click right now.

Nashville fan here. No way is this trade equal value. Bottom pairing defenseman for a top 6 forward. Won't happen. Franson has the potential to be a top 4 defenseman, at best. Still not enough value if he peaks. Franson isn't enough to land Cogliano either at this point.

Probably the fairest deal would be Blum for Cogliano. Some may say it's a little lopsided one way or another but that's a closer deal IMO.

Even if he isn't, he's already a number two center, and he still has potential to grow. As opposed to Blum, who is a good prospect, but still is just that, a prospect, and Franson, who doesn't seem to have a spot on Nashville.

I also find it amusing that people in Vancouver throw parades after first round victories.

I don't get it, Gagner's younger than Blum, has played 3 seasons of 40+ points in the NHL level while Blum hasn't even played in one NHL game.

I think him having to play on the Vancouver Giants has something to do with this.

I agree. For someone to say Colgiano putting up 15 points in 15 games or whatever the hell it is matters is ridiculous.

Cogliano at the moment doesn't carry much value. Players are judged on their play over their most recent season, not an arbitrary handful of games.
