Who Cares?
Really Sens Fans?

Hey tell Luc Bordon's parents that the pre season goal that they have of his means nothing.......get some compassion people! Respect for Lehners accomplishments regardless of how small would be nice. The lack of respect shown by Versteeg will not be forgotten by myself. If no one else saw it that way then maybe you should have a second look at the tape. Its like saying that Hanson was just trying to get up and Lee's head was in the way. Purely accidental. Im sure he really didnt mean to push his face into the ice?????

I'll tell you what.

If Lehner dies before he gets an official NHL shutout, you can be as irate as you want.

Otherwise, you're not winning anyone over. Sorry.

It was the Leafs' "Fan First" game (whatever the hell that means). Versteeg may have just thought he would flip it to a fan who would like a souvenir. No big deal. I'm sure Lehner will get his first real NHL shutout soon enough.

I'm sure he's more upset that I referred to him as "Robert" numerous times.

"Man, this Rob Lehner is solid, looking good for Ottawa" and other various comments.

It may have been pre-season, but damn, it was the kid's first NHL shutout.

I think the puck should have gone to him, but he'll have his opportunity some day in the future to get another shutout in the regular season and that will count for much more.

Goalies normally don't play complete games this early in exhibtion season. It would be great to get the puck if Lehner really wanted it but it is just an exhibition game. The puck he wants is his first NHL regular season win, shutout etc..

If it doesn't count in the regular season standings then it doesn't get recognized..

I noticed Versteeg lift it over the glass as the buzzer went...but thought nothing of it. If Lehner views this as a significant accomplishment, he sure doesn't aim very high.

Versteeg probably just realized that it is going to be a really long and frustrating season.

It was a complete ****** thing to do, but I really don't think he was intentionally trying to prevent Lehner from getting the puck. He probably saw it and flipped it over the boards in a fit of frustration.

Imagine going from Toews to Bozak as your first line centre? Ha!!

Lehner is a monster

I love his technique, how he protects his angles, down low movement and how he has great ability at playing the puck on his stick.

I'm in love with the guy already... i'd offer him my girlfriend who's missing one leg, to ******* Every night. She can't run away, which makes it a good thing !!

Leafs fan coming in peace....

This is what it looked like happened from my view. Simple frustration. I almost caught it as well, went about 3 or 4 rows above my head.

Quoting the recap:

"It feels awesome right now," Lehner said of his first shutout at the NHL level. "I couldn't have done any better. ... But I'm going to be a lot happier when I get my first real win."

I doubt he cared at all about that 'incident', so calm down.

Did he imply it was a pre-season game or that it was against the maple leafs when he said his first real win?

Versteeg still mad about Pronger taking pucks in the playoffs (though he did give them back to Niemi after the hawks won)

That is, hands down, the strangest comment I have ever read on here.

he won me over.

i always felt Versteeg was over rated and not that great on the Hawks. started out hot, cooled off. played a good role on a good team. certainly not a guy i'd sign to build around. but i had no ill feelings about him

this sucked, but there are other game pucks around, he can dress one up and tell the story of it, how the evil leaf threw it over the glass.

i think it was classless and i think the way he sent it over showed it was intentional and not just an emotional reaction.

i also think if it mattered to OTT or Lehner then we'll find out the next time OTT plays TOR

It does not matter if he cares or not about the puck.It was a classless thing to do if it was the other ay around it would be national news.
