Regarding the Lee/Hanson fight... if I remember it right, I think Hanson might've got him good around the chin, which is why he went down without really defending himself - but the face smash was definitely unwarranted and hopefully someone puts Hanson back in line tonight.

Is Hanson even playing tonight? If Hanson was an experienced fighter, that would have been a really bad play. But it was his first 'NHL' fight and he was just throwing him with his head down.
He might want to sit tonight's game out though. No sense getting in a fight with our AHL tough-guy in a meaningless preseason game. Even though he's a Leaf, I like Hanson. And yes, probably because he's THAT Hanson, but also because it seems like he's really had to struggle to get to this point and his work ethic is top-drawer.

On the puck thing, Versteeg looks for a fan to toss the puck to. It really didn't look malicious. Put down the pitchforks and torches. There will be plenty enough things to hate about the Leafs as the season gets underway.

last time i post something about it. yes as you can see it did upset me that the "memento" was taken from the kid whether it be on purpose or not. it appears that others have the same thoughts as i do on this subject on other sens boards. it just would have been nice to see him get the puck regardless if its pre season or not.
Since you're quoting, you might include what his follow up comment was after that one..

yeah, that's not bad at all

the way I read it was as though he’d done it to spite Lehner. This looks like giving a fan a souvenir.

People only take parts of quotes to back up their argument?

Scoring with 5 sec left in a 5-0 game would not impress anybody.

The team worked hard, they were winning, they were trying to score even in the last minute and I'm find with that. But fans can't complain about Versteeg throwing the puck in the stands as the buzzer goes off if the other team was trying to score up until the last second.

Personally I don't care what Versteeg did at the end.

I agree wholeheartedly, players don't save the puck from there first preseason goal, and if he's as driven as it sounds this really won't be an issue for him

It's the Leafs vs Sens, what do you expect? "Class" loses it's meaning when these two teams face-off.

in the grand scheme of his career, this will be a baby milestone.

You don't need the pick to have the memory of the shut out.

yes well thats ottawa fans for you! overreacting and whining about every little thing. Lucky for us Lehner doesnt seem to be so panzy as to freak out about a puck in preseason. I doubt lehnr would even want to keep it as he knows its not even close to an nhl victory.
