Fantasy Hockey?

Hey,

is anyone interested in a fantasy hockey league for the 2010/11 season? I thought it would be nice to have a league for this board. It's also an advantage because it would be easier for all of us to participate in the live draft. I think we need at least eight players. As for the commisioner, I propose vipers, because he does a tremendous job in another fantasy league. I would also suggest yahoo as the provider, has anyone experiences with ESPN?

Send a message via ICQ to Vipers31
Sure, get me some more work...
But yeah, why not, I could probably do it if we can get a solid group together.

Me too.
Though strictly speaking it wouldn't be exactly the first time for me to participate in something like this, but I'm not sure the last time I tried really counts, since 3 weeks into the season I was only 1 of 2 guys who were still playing out of a total of 12 people.

Well, yahoo is not difficult to handle. It's actually very easy. Additionally, because we all live in the same time zone it's easier to find a draft appointment. It only takes a few minutes per week. Let's see, we're currently five players:

Vipers31
ts
Lauro
Maverick41
mexicohockey
Salzig

I know another player who might be interested in joining the league. I think a league of 12-15 players is perfect (even though we can play with less players). I think it's the best to wait and see if anyone wants to join. If someone has a reliable* (in case that he's interested in the NHL and doesn't lose the interest during the season) friend who is also interested in a fantasy league, feel free to tell.

If we use yahoo, then it really is simple enough. I've been in a Fantasy Basketball league for 2 seasons that used yahoo, and it really was easy to handle.

I hope we can find some more players though. It should really be at least 8 or 10 but 12 or more would be better.

Well, I guess when the DEL starts some other people might take a look in the forum section. Maybe some of them might be interested.
(So we have to keep this thread alive, I guess )

I am moving back to Germany in December, so I might be in as well. Will be pretty busy with the move in the next couple of weeks...
Book me as a likely participant.

I hope it's not a misunderstanding, but you don't need to be from Germany to participate in this league. I just wanted to gather the people from this board, but it seems like the interest is pretty low. And as said, if you've got a friend who's into hockey, you can ask him if he wants to join, too. We're now seven players (I asked a friend of Vipers and me) and I hope we can get to ten players.

Fully understood. I only mentioned it because the move will be good for some distraction early in the season...
